I'm tired of hearing about kids killing or shooting each other.

I found out last nite tha ta 13 year old kid,shot at a very good friends daughter and her cousins.

This kid shot across a busy ass street,at these kids.An adult,who knew the kids and came to their assitance whiel they were being chased was shot in
the face.

This makes the 4th shooting incident I have either heard of or have seen on the news in that area in the past 2 weeks.

The guy who got shot in the face survived,but these kids are lost and have no regard for life.

They caught the kid,which is a good thing.The thing I am worried about is a damn war starting over this.The tracks is a divison line,between rivals and this is sure to kick things off,since there have been incidents for damn near a year now.

I am worried for my 12 year old nephew.I tell him to avoid certain areas and then they either kill or shoot someone in the other area that was supposedly safe.

When will this madness end?

I have played GTA and Call of Duty many times... I do not feel the need to carry a knife or gun with me at all... I am 22, probably included in the age group this subject is based on...

For me the problem lies with the parents and the upbringing of the child - I am lucky to have two great supportive parents who taught me right from wrong, some kids won't even have half of that... The lack of suitable role models and the abundance of unsuitable ones is disturbing - mainly because they can see what they are doing and they are not stopping - the lure of money for their image overrules their conscience I suppose...

I need to admit that this is not my culture. To me owning a gun makes of you a potential criminal.
If you don't have a gun, you'll be more inclined to run to the police or use legal ends to get over a conflict.

I think alot of Americans would like to get rid of all guns but there is no way gun owers would give them up. They would have to call out the military and it would lead to a civil war. I think all possible solutions to gun violence need to take this into account.

By the way, gun violence is increasing in France. Alot of stolen shotguns were seen during the riots in the past few years. There are more guns out there to buy, especially from former Yugoslavia states. My job requires that I work with students that have had run in with the law...what I've come to see is alot of gang activities. When one has come up with a problem with another person or group and I have suggested for them to file a complaint..they look at me like I'm stupid. One kid told me..we take care of our own problems..we don't need them. So they're afraid to deal with the police and yes they do deal with it. Guns are very easy to buy. When you have a kid whose hanging out in the streets and he sees all the kaos going on..yep he's going to find something to defend himself with. Then you have the kid who doesn't hang out but has to cross the projects to get home, you have the dad who works late hours and rides that train alone, you have mom whose coming home from school late, the sister whose also trying to get home.. what about pops who owns the bodega???....they all have to defend themselves as well. Its a social problem that's increasing..and its very sad...not to mention the police who are scared as well and will pop a gun in a second to then find out...it was just a kid who set off a firecracker....then you have the drug addicts who are just plainly wilding out on dust, on crack. I think one thing that most of us are looking over in this situation is....Children being brought up in a home with parents who teach and love them, And show it! Yes its true there is nothing saying that your kids wont be a victim of some other child. But there is comfort in knowing your child is not out there shooting someone else. I Have four that range from 26 down to 8.
