I seriously sit and think out my children's names before they are born. It is really sad how parents don't think about the babies and selfishly name them, thinking it's cute. When I named my children I think about how the names will affect their personalities, their school life, social life and careers.

The most creative we've got with names are:

Kennadee Rythm (a prophecy come true) this will be my author, playwriter (she makes up very good stories)
Cequence Catherine - this will be my actress (drama queen)

My other children

Michelle Jael - my track star (she has made it to state finals graemlins/OLA.gif
Darryl Peter II - my actor, singer, journalist or preacher (he loves to sing and talks alot)

My unborn's name will be Blake Ellis - this will be the one to carry on wealth in the family

Twin girls = Monique & Unique (Thanks to Eddie Murphy for that one...)

Lenor = As used by the poet Poe, but also a fabric conditioner in Europe

The 'low-rent' name of choice in the UK is Kylie, or it was the last time I was there, Tyler, comes a close second...

Let's hear it for Moet & Chandon

This thread is proof that many people become parents too soon. An interesting name I heard for a kid was "Trebor". The father's name was "Robert". Don't be the last to figure this one out.

I just made sure that my kids had the same initials as mine, and healthy employable names.
While unique names are great for laughs, we all know that "Allup Enya" isn't the kind of name you'd want to put on a resume. Hmmm, maybe there's no good first name for the "Enya" family.

I used to tutor elementary school kids back in Chicago and I had a 2nd grader named Alpacino (named after the actor). Yes, this kid's first name is AL PACINO. Ghet-toe!

I currently work with a brotha who's first name is Pilgrim (He's from Texas). He has a PhD and 4 masters degrees, though, so no one teases him about his name. LOL

And the one that takes the cake: a girl I worked with back in college planned to name her kids the first syllable of each of her best friends' names. So, her future daughter will be named Quantaginny (Kwan-tah-gin-nee) and her future son will be named Quantarius (kwan-tear-ee-us).

Lets see, my sister is notorious for naming her children odd names.

Andy Pete(WTF!?, how about Andrew Peter)
AIRika( I can hear her classmates come up with a bunch of variation on that one)
Markwen(not too bad, but still odd to me)
Lexine(the car was the shit at the time, but I guess she did not want to be that obvious)
James Owen(not that bad either, but it still sounds odd to me)

Although I can't really talk sh!t either. I named one of my sons Maximus, but only after I found out what the name meant The Greatest or None greater than.

peace,
