View Full Version : RAP, old school that is...(FAO Jurren & Mike Barnes)
During a boring and rainy sunday afternoon, I stumbled across this mix by a guy called KZA on the hipster/fashion-victim website Sarcastic Clothing.

This mix is very entertaining and filled with "discoey" old school Rap like Mike T "TSOB". Unfortunately, I only now two or three songs and would love to have a playlist, if somebodfy has the time and the nerves to do this.
Lyot, you asked for stuff like that today, here you go.
Mike Barnes, I can imagine you enjoying this mix and knowing every track on it.

Especially the tracks after the 15.14 minute mark to around 35 minutes are very important to me...but I WANT TO HAVE THEM ALL!
Peace,
Gerd

Ultra's up on old school hip hop too. She might be able to help you out... You might want to try posting this on the stonesthrow message board in the diggers section...
next time I see him I'll ask Paul T(Sarcastic) if there is a playlist for the mix...

At 1:00:14 it's TSOB by Master Jay and Michael Dee, the first release on TSOB Records.
The one playing at 14 minutes is Do It Anyway You Wanna by Mike T on Golden Pyramid.
The one Ultra mentioned at 15 minutes is by Jackie Small Cochran and is actually on Brass Records; it's the rap response to Feel Good Party Time, also on Brass. It's called Summer Fun.
Thanks, Andrew.
The Mike T and TSOB were actually two of the songs I already knew. Do you have any idea what is playing at 56:47 and the very first track of the mix?
@Kelvy: The link should work fine...?
Peace.

I think the one at 56 minutes is Searchin' Rap by Bon Rock, on Rockin' and Reelin' Records.
Thanks again, my friend...
Peace.

Hey guys, you're welcome! ;)
graemlins/respekt.gif
Btw, was stuff like that also played by Club deejays like Levan, Scott and all those guys?
I can remember listening to an very early Humphries mix, where he played a lot of Rap that was basically free from Disco influences.
Peace.
