New way to post your pictures on this message board [Archive]

To upload your pictures type the following into your browser's address window:

ftp://jukar.biostat.wisc.edu

You should then be prompted for a username and password.

username: deephouse
password: deephouse

Type in "deephouse" for the username and "deephouse" for the password.

Then click logon or OK

You will then see a directory that has a lot of other jpegs in it. Now all you have to do is drag and drop (i.e. copy) your picture files into the browser directory with all the other picture files.

Once the files have transferred you can post the picture in a message by using the following link format for the "image" button.

http://jukar.biostat.wisc.edu/pics/yourpicture.jpg

Note the image button is located under the "Instant UBB Code" section.

For example. If I upload a picture called gerard.jpg then I would type the following link (URL) into the image button window:

http://jukar.biostat.wisc.edu/pics/gerard.jpg

***Note this is for pictures only. Anything else will be removed !!!

how do you prevent non-DHPers from posting pix onto the FTP site and displaying them elsewhere -- like BGOL, or something?....

-g- Sure that can happen. Its only a small disk quota and I will be reviewing the contents often. As far as non-DHP people using it a DHP visitor\member would have to share the logon info with the non-DHP person who would then abuse it graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Hi Gman, I work off of a Mac and I am having some trouble dragging and dropping pictures into the server file, is the system set up for Mac's also?

Dragging the picture into the server only brings the picture up in a localhost url, but it still does not copy into your server. I am not sure what to do.

And this is me in Mostar, Bosnia. Just behing me, you can see the Mostar bridge, legendary as it has been standing there since the 1500s. It was destroyed during the war, in 1993 I believe. It is part of human cultural heritage (don't know the exact wording) and is being rebuilt with european funds. The city itself is built around the bridge, the name "Mostar" refers to a man that is some sort of a "guardian of the bridge", I know there's an exact term for that.

graemlins/conf44.gif You will then see a directory that has a lot of other jpegs in it. Now all you have to do is drag and drop (i.e. copy) your picture files into the browser directory with all the other picture files.

Once the files have transferred you can post the picture in a message by using the following link format for the "image" button.

Note the image button is located under the "Instant UBB Code" section.

For example. If I upload a picture called gerard.jpg then I would type the following link (URL) into the image button window:
