a good time, as always..
a nite where good old firends and new heads meet, come to dance, a perfect excuse to get to hug and squeeze the chicks, dance and most of all, get blasted. my head is pounding right now.. where's my hangover helper!? the food was pretty ****ing good. opena restaurant already, ray! hail.gif

the music was pumping!
jamie lennox doing his thing on the house tip and giving us a glimpse of his tight selectons from the early 90s to present.. peeps were trainspotting all night on thse three DJs.

i was battling with TAC on some tikiman joint that paisley thre down, but the old man was clever in busting out his 70's dancehall moves, he moved like he had a flashback from 30 years ago, adn practically swept the floor with his pants and shirt. i couldn't fo it as my nut-hugging jeans restricted my movements from the waist down, so i wasn't able to get down.

thank for th good time, ladies!
hoooooooooooooooooo! and good seeing everyone!

now, i need to go puke the bottle of red i had.

the music was pumping!
jamie lennox doing his thing on the house tip and giving us a glimpse of his tight selectons from the early 90s to present.. peeps were trainspotting all night...I will say the Lennox was ripping sh*t. It was hilarious to see the big grin that came on his face once the crowd showed up and started to give it up for him. Yes, rainspotting was in effect. JAMIE I need the name of that song on the VISION label.

i was battling with TAC on some tikiman joint that paisley threw down, but the old man was clever in busting out his 70's dancehall moves, he moved like he had a flashback from 30 years ago, and practically swept the floor with his pants and shirt. i couldn't fo it as my nut-hugging jeans restricted my movements from the waist down, so i wasn't able to get down.Excuses, excuses. Face it, I cleaned your clock with my moves.
http://deephousepage.com/smilies/spinning.gif http://deephousepage.com/smilies/party_06.gif

But yes, I'm doing laundry now 'cause, yes, the floor IS all over my clothes. Next time wear some Techno pants, or just say fluck it and split the ones you have on.

now, i need to go puke the bottle of red i had. Yea, we gotta stop drinking that red wine that they have there. We are used to better wine! ;) I don't know what kind of wine that was, but my wife said I stank of liquor when I got home (not cool). I am slowly recovering now...I'll be okay by Monday.

Uplift got the middle shift, i.e., spinning while peeps were eating, so it was kind of tough for him to the "dance" thing while everyone was concentrating on stufffing their face. Even so this man laced us with some grooves that had peeps turning their heads. Once we finished eating, it was on...

Mr. Ron Paisley, followed and drove us wild with some forwarding looking beats that were just sick...nuff said. It didn't even make sense trying to trainspot cause we were having too much fun.

Chef Ray came strong with the food, as usual. That chicken was falling of the bone...man, this man can cook...the goat, Lord the goat. And of course there was that potatoe salad in honor of Ms. Efab. Funny things was we were licking up the gravy in the pans at the end of the night when everyone left. Hilarious to see grown people fighting over "pan bottom." You would think we had never eaten before.

Thank you to our hosts Maria, TamTam, and Shalewa. I need to go recover...

Peace
TAC

wow, that was the BEST DHP party i've been to. i think i danced with everybody in that place. all 3 DJs repped, and there was a meeting at the booth when Ron was playing http://deephousepage.com/smilies/grouphug.gif. were y'all taking notes or something? but that WAS a party...dope music, dope food, dope vibe. shouts to TOT, Lennox and his girl Ro, Cheddi, Shalewa (wreckin it as always!), Tam Tam (been a long time, but i know you have GOOD reasons), Maria and hubby Kelvin, Lil Ray, Uplift, CG63 (your friend Libby was great too. tell her i said thank you for the compliment again), Messiah (LIT), TAC, Kai, Almagest (I ain't know you could dance like THAT!), Kenrick and shoot did I miss anybody? much thanks to Lennox and Uplift, you both surpassed my expectations and played some of my favorite joints. and of course, Mr. Paizley http://deephousepage.com/smilies/knuddel.gif...forgive me y'all he's my favorite DJ (an hour and a half ain't enough!) you keep this youngeon jackin'.

and to my man Lil Ray, your personality and your cooking are tremendous. graemlins/remybussi.gif thanks for feeding me for a couple of days...and gourmand style at that. Shalewa caught me applauding when you showed up with the food http://deephousepage.com/smilies/blush.gif.

special thanks to TOT and Cheddi for organizing the joint. graemlins/clap.gif

my feet hurt, i'm going to soak 'em in the tub now.

Fact 1 - JLennie has skills on the decks, and a really lovely lady by his side, really nice finally meeting her.
Fact 2 - Uplift did his thing regardless of the fact that everyone was stuffing their faces.
Fact 3 - Ron Paisley just took it there from the minute he got on, REFRESHING hearing some different stuff, I enjoyed the hell out of his set - it reminded me when Izrail came to 2i's and took it to places I had no idea even existed....
Fact 4 - the hosts and hostesses always represent and ensure a good time, those of you who have been missing out for what ever your reason is...shame on ya!
Fact 5 - I tore up the curry goat, Lil Ray needs to open a restaurant, as usual he put his foot in the potato salad. (Yea Almagest, I was fighting the itis too ;) )
Fact 6 - I can't wait for DHP 6 and look forward to the next 3 dj's and hanging out with the loyal following. graemlins/OLA.gif

Chairman Kuo - tell John I am holding him to his drunken promises about the car, and thank you for not spilling on me graemlins/remybussi.gif
TAC - it's Lindemans (Australian) Merlot.

Okay, back to cleaning now....

Thanks to the DJs, RAY and the people who came through.
I for one was zombified from life...fightin hard not to catch a lil nap outta fear of being caught with one of those pictures graemlins/jpshakehead.gif I didnt really get my drink on :( .

I thought the agent retard Lennox was Good, maybe he should talk less and make mixes more. UplIftDisco was hot and he started with Old School HOUSE..to some newer stuff and finished with some of that Disco/Soul. Ron P, as I expected from reading his opinions was diverse and hit various highs with the Teddy P & the City Streets.

Peace out...

Hands down the dancingest DHP gathering ever. I literally danced down the stairs to the sounds of DJ SoulTrain LLennox and had a had time sitting down for the rest of the evening. Each and every DJ who stepped up to the tables did so with the intention of moving all asses in the place. They all succeeded. Funniest dance or eat moment during Crockett's set was when Kenrick jumps off of his stool mid-chew to dance a few steps. Most expressive movement artist hands down was TAC who managed to hit a full range of African Diaspora movement styles in his dance which was absolutely beautiful.

In addition to the above listed beautiful folks shouts also to Kayo, YoRel, Ro's sister, Messiah's friends and Tee Mallory who all added their wonderful, festive and funky energies to the dancefloor mix.

DHP parties are the best I ever been to. It was too bad I already had a long day before I came out, so I was a little tired. The food is awesome as always and the DJs ripped, I especially enjoyed the 2-step session just makes me want to go record shopping. For those who weren't there we had fun for you guys, hear that Go-Jay. Jay you missed a great party, I hope things are well.

Bill Blake
05-11-2003, 10:27 AM
First of all I really want to thank Timmy and Cheddi for letting me play. I truly consider it an honor.

Oh yea, sorry for not bringing needles or as Cheddi said ‘Yo, you aint the realist’. Then Timmy scolded me with that ‘what the **** am I gonna do with this Lennox' look. Then I acted like a little bitch for about thirty minutes. Then Cheddi was like ‘Yo why you acting like such a little bitch?’. Then I was like ‘Shut up….I aint acting like a little bitch’. Then Cheddi went back up stairs to get one last look at that male stripper he has a crush on.

Lil Ray, Tam Tam, Shalewa, and Maria, thank you so much for your hospitality.

To the whole crowd, sorry for that record skip in Samba, forgot that shit doesn’t play through on some needles, I think I might need to pick of the reprint no? OR MAYBE I SHOULD BRING MY OWN NEEDLES?

As Ro said after the party, the people there are the nicest you could ever meet, everybody….and its true.

John really played HOUSE the way that shit is saposta be done. He just killed it with selection and reminded everybody just how good this damn music is.

Ron played everything from Classics to the New Style and reminded everyone what the term ‘party music’ means. Why Bobo when you can Tiki? Ron was nice, loose and pumpin!

I have been thinking about this party (everyone of them not just this one) over the weekend and since I have been to all of them I gotta say this is one of the few parties in New York that really deserves the description ‘PARTY’. You really cant beat it.

Let all those parties and their promoters and DJ’s tell you to come out and support. You don’t come to these parties to support, you come to these parties to have a good ass damn time. I MEAN ITS FREE! And once again Ray is pulling out of his own pocket and giving his own time to feed us. Thank God, someone like Timmy and Cheddi, Tam Tam, Maria, Shalewa and Ray are getting it right.

TAC, thank you for the ride home.

Record: Alex Attias and Ed Motta: Sus 4 Jam. BANGIN!

Only thing Missing as of yet…..Gman getting off his butt and flying himself and Linda in for one. You don’t even have to pay for a hotel. You can stay with Kai’s family.

NEXT PARTY: Cheddi, Lil Ray and TAC…………..gonna be slamming!

Thank you again Timmy and Cheddi...I had a blast as usual.

I'm feelin' a little lazy, so If we chatted on Friday, it was great to see and talk to you.

I can’t say enough about how in awe I am at how cute these parties turn out every single time! There has not been a single DJ who’se come to throw down that hasn’t bought his or her own special magic. I was feelin’ a little sick actually this weekend and for the first time I came with out a change of clothes, I said to hubby I’ll just take it easy and we’ll leave a little earlier,,,,what a mistake!! Jamie, my clothes were soaked thru and that was just the beginning of the party!!! Please tell me again the name of the record I asked you about, cause I don’t remember it! Romina is an angel and is full of spirit, please tell her I said hi! Uplift what can I say, I had to leave the food line and come back to dance graemlins/respekt.gif you just were right there with it and that Freaky record was the shiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttt which I am now on the hunt for. You know when you smak yourself on the head and say WHY did I not pay more attention when the record was played, please if you can spare the details so I know what I am looking for that would be great. Ron, I can’t lie, I was trainspotting and had Ray feed me the names of records while you were doing your thing :D , the Romanthony, Didn’t I Bring You Up record brought my better half to the dancefloor like a magnet. I went to the back of the house where some loft friends were and we did our thing back there but I did catch TAC doing his dancehall moves, that was too cool graemlins/cheering.gif . It was good to see Adam in the house, I haven’t seen ya in a while papi!! And I am sorry I didn’t realize Tee Mallory was there, I would have loved to thank him in person for the lovely mixes we can listen to on the DHP!

Ray I went out and bought me some capers, cause I will be seasoning my whiting the right way from now on…I still say the whiting was a dead ringer for baccalá, loved it!!! My fellow hosts Tam Tam and Shalewa, I really have fun doing this with you, TOT and Cheddi, good job well done! The rest of the crew, ya’ll make the party, the main ingredient, the sazón that brings it all together, thank you all for the great hugs and the 2-steppin hail.gif

laterz Yo thanks for the id's. I'm not sure whether any of that stuff can be found.

But yea, your vibe turned into "the futuristic bruk-up-sound-clash." I don't know something made us just flip when you starting playing that sh*t.

Once again, a good time was had by all!!

Peace

TAC i am just going to echo your thoughts tac cause i can't put it into words how this "futuristic bruk-up-sound-clash" thing of ron's made me and my friends feel. we all just looked at each other because we didn't know what hit us or when it did.... but our heads were bopping harder than ever.

all in all i think jamie and john did very well in setting us up for what ron had to say. my spirits were a mile high from i set foot in the place to the sounds of jamie and of course john had me joking on my goat.

i am still smiling from ear to ear...

hey, relax over there, love birds. didn't realise you were there since I didn't meet you. props were properly were given. now f*cking get over yourselves. he was the one who came out all defensive with "biterz" and "back to the 4/4 cornaz"? what, are you guys ****ing kidding me? if it weren't for me and TAC bugging the F*ck out to ONE track (trainspotted one track), and leading the way on the floor, no one would have caught the steps! well, maybe Sharock.

Again, please don't get pig and big-headed, people. I tell it the way it is. **** the battle is a different story. The ones who know me, know i play all different shit, yes, your crap included.
