PLAY parties NYC

have any of the NYC cats ever checked a Play party? Someone I know helps organising and spins there from time to time. They had some Balihu people over, Gene farris, Osunlade, ... What have or haven't you heard about it, and what did you think about it yourself ? What's the Sapphire Lounge like etc ?

I'm one of the Play residents. Obviously I'm biased but the party and the space have been good to us. We've had a lot of memorable nights, plenty of compliments, and most of the people who have come to spin have been really happy playing there and asked to come back. We're also into a broad range of sounds, as you can tell from the list of dudes that have played there (Danny Wang, Osunlade, Llorca, Andre Collins, Jori Hulkonnen, Pal Joey, Diz, Yannick from Needs, Dixon...)

Sapphire is a nice spot. The system's been beefed up a bit, they've got a cabaret, and it's intimate but it's still got a dance floor. E-Man and Lola have a party there on Tuesdays also (Wil Milton had Tuesdays before them).

I don't know what else to say cuz I don't want to sound like some phoney b*tch hyping his party up. Honestly not a lot of DHPers make it out (as you can probably tell by the lack of replies to your post), so best thing is to come out and see for yourself! heeha, that would be great Don. Too bad I'm living in Belgium. those Play flyers r really gooooodlookin, and so are the names on it .. when I was in NYC a couple of years ago I've been to a very early one, in a place close to the flatiron building. Anyway, say Sam says hi to Steven from me.
