i wanted to ask about my car making noise. It seems as if something is hitting the fan and everytime I accelerate, it makes the noise and it is loud. People stare at me because it is so loud. Could it be my motor mounts? I wanted to be prepared with some car knowledge before I take it in and they tell me it's my whole motor or tires. Any ideas are greately appreciated.

yes, it's an older car but it's wonderful. I've named it Anjansan, honorable pilot in Japanese
Thanks

Thanks I had a funny feeling that it was a Ford.
I know for a fact that many Ford/Mercury Tempos and Topaz's had an issue that when you turn on the Air Conditioner, this rattling noise would come from the Engine.
Does this sound familiar?

TAC I get an oil change every 2000 miles, not the regular 3000 so it's not that. But, could it be my crank shaft? Everytime I accelerate or let go of the gas, it makes that fan grinding noise. What happens if my crank goes out????
thanks a mil.

I thought it could also be the way my fuel pump and thermostat was installed. This noise started when I had those replaced and has progressively gotten worse. At first I thought some belt was too close to the fan, but if it was, it would have ripped the belt by now. If it is my motor mounts it would mean my engine is being lifted each time I accelerate, but if it is my crank shaft, what does it all mean. I really appreciate your time on this.
