Internal CD-RW for a Mac?

I've got an older G4 with a DVD-ROM drive and I want to get a CD-RW. I don't have any burning software, so what should I get? And what CD-RW would be compatible?

Any help would be massively appreciated, thanks!

I don't know about the best hardware but as far as software concerns, I'ld suggest Roxio's Toast. You can review it here (http://www.roxio.com/en/products/toast/index.jhtml).

Any IDE CD-RW drive should do it,so get the one which has a good price right now, as for the software I recommend Toast too.

e2e4 - wicked, that's what I've needed to hear. Some salesman told me no third party CD-RW would work, and that I had to get a firewire drive!

An Apple Salesman I assume, they always say such things, and when you tell them that you have for example the cheapest CD-RW(PC only in their terms of course) in your machine(also a G4), you always get a big ? in their face.

I would suggest the Yamaha CRW-F1 44x burner.

I've been using it for a few months and have been very impressed. It does a complete mix CD in less than 3 min (like 2:45). It also has another mode for burning master copies. It basically spreads the 'grooves' a little farther apart.

I've opted for a Lite-On 48x24x48 and Toast. Combined they come in cheaper than the Firewire drive the salesman tried to shift onto me. Kelvy: expect that CD soon biggrinangel.gif
