But, man, I am loving the outcome...

I've learned more about people on the DHP over the last 2 days than in my previous 2 years here combined, especially those who I knew in person, but didn't REALLY know them.

A lot of shiit got exposed, lots of hypocricies uncovered, and in my opinion--all the better.

Some of you are so blinded by love that you turn into ugly dickheads, but I applaud your intentions.

See you at the Shelter (if they let me in ;) )

As "removed" from the events as I was .. and as circular as most of the dialogue seems to have been, I've been really engaged by all of it. This board is definitely tops. graemlins/grinyes.gif

Damn db, you sure caused a lot of sheezy up in here. I can't wait to hear about your next experience at the Shelter. But before you post let me know beforehand, so I can make some popcorn to sit back and watch the DHP drama unfold. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/smokin.gif

Hey you think "Next time" you guys can hash this out on the kou or underground NYC? Or at least keep it to one ****ing thread instead of tying up the whole ****ing board.

Thank you.

I personally don't think you have anything to apologize about, you paid money to see a specific dj and you didn't...why are you apologizing? you asked a question and was told to fuk off, why are you apologizing? Actually, you were told that if you didn't like what you got then fuk off and don't come back...I don't feel like you should have been asking GU anything, he wasn't on the board saying "Hey come and see me play at XYZ on BBB" I personally think it's up to the establishment and the promoters to clear the air, as it has been done...now if you want to know more info, then I guess you would go to GU..but otherwise you finally got a well deserved answer...

And I totally agree with you....talk about devotion....it's kinda scary in a way....

And I totally agree with you....talk about devotion....it's kinda scary in a way.... Yes he paid money to an establishment that booked the DJ he wanted to see. Glenn showed up and was offered to play on two different occasions that night according to Freddy, and Glenn declined on both occasions.

And although there were many possibilities as to why Glenn and even other DJs did not play or did not show up, instead of an initial topic started to inquire about this, remember, the title of the thread was Shelter MISREPRESENTATIONS.

The title implies that the ONLY reasons his beloved Glenn didn’t play was Shelters fault. And from this accusation a whole slew of Shelter bashings found their way into to threads, some, more than some, using this assumed impropriety of Shelter as an example to use to prove their point that the place is all about the money, doesn’t care about its costumers, that the management is lacking etcetera.

As a promoter of a party who’s party gave DJ’s an opportunity to show up and play and the DJ’s either declined to show or play and then be accused of this being their fault, I can completely understand that

One: A promoter has the right and can certainly feel that they don’t need to explain it to anyone if they chose.

Two: Given that they did do their part and then were accused otherwise could have a **** OFF attitude. It’s their business and their right. And to be honest, the reply that its unprofessional is shallow to say they least. There are plenty of people that make money and provide top-notch services in markets everyday that tell someone to **** off.

Three: Robbie is perfectly entitled to throw of the robe of promoter on this board when he aint on the clock and speak outside of ‘Shelter’ if he chooses.

What Danny really should of have learned and everyone should be reminded of is Classic Sherlock Holmes.

To assume a hypothesis be true, one must first rule out all other hypotheses.

there's obviously at least 2 ways in which dhp members view professionalism with regards to promoting. both sides have laid out their arguments ad nauseum, and neither camp is going to convince the other they are right. can we all agree to disagree and move on?

I have pretty much stayed out of this whole discussion, but it kills me how you can get 10+ pages of bashing and discussion on negative issues, and so few pages of acknowlegement once reason is given from both Freddy and Glenn.

Bunch of f'ing ridiculous people. You wanna talk a bunch of stuff when it's all negative (whether justified or not) but can't stand up and acknowledge the reasoning when it's given.

The last thing I am is a hypocrite. Hey, I wasn't responsible for what happened last week-end. Why are you implying that it's my duty to investigate what happened? I shouldn't have to talk to GU (although I did) or the Shelter management. All of these issues are really between the Shelter and the dj's, and ultimately it was the responsibility of the Shelter to explain to the Shelterheads (forget customers, audience and all those other b.s. terms) why certain things didn't go according to plan. That's it period. Since I didn't get that explanation, I got mad.

Attention promoters, superstar dj's, and even the Shelter--don't take your fans for granted!

And that's exactly what happened by atleast one individual. The Staff at the Shelter made up for some of the problems by asking other DJs to step in and play.

To tell you the truth, I still don't get the reasoning, so there is nothing for me to acknowledge. I read Freddie's explanation, GU's explanation, and both lead to more questions than answers. Bottomline is that in the outside world (beyond the house scene) people get sued for shiit like this. Which just brings me back to the point I have been making all along--the lack of professionalism in our scene is astounding! And the worst part is that people put up with that, including me.

</font>
so you did talk to GU cause ya know him...you obviously then knew what the deal with why he didn't go on..yet YOU came on here and stated that the SHELTER misrepresented

youre the one who misrepresented (and i mean lied) you knew the deal or could have known before you went online and maligned the club...

the bottom line from your own words is that you talk to GU and i'm sure you did so BEFORE you posted this thread...but you needed to just act like a lollipop ( starts with s and ends with r)

thanks for being stupid enough to play yourself...you saved me the trouble of having to..

The gang holds a benefit for a teen center. Rerun pretends to know Sammy

The difference here is that all the DJs were supposed to attend the party. Some didn't play for different reasons, but the staff made up for these circumstances.

Dannyboy wants to bash someone, but he can't bash GU and stay on his jock, so he bashes Shelter because it's like bashing an institution, like Congress or the UN - no one individual has the finger pointed at them.

And I do concur with a notion from a previous thread - black people and establishments are held to a different standard. Clive Davis ****s people as much as P Diddy; Phil Spector shot some chick in his foyer - you dig what I'm saying?

Mutha****as act like someone revoked their Medicaid. It's just a club set. Have fun - shit.

Bunch of f'ing ridiculous people. You wanna talk a bunch of stuff when it's all negative (whether justified or not) but can't stand up and acknowledge the reasoning when it's given.

f'ing stupid. graemlins/cussing.gif Keith,
To tell you the truth, I still don't get the reasoning, so there is nothing for me to acknowledge. </font>
My point is that you did not acknowledge Glenn's post nor Freddy's... if you have something to say, cool, but acknowledge when people try to give an answer. Other then what Glenn and Freddy said, nobody has any answers, so keep it movin.

Also my statement wasn't only directed at you, but the other 20-odd coherts (sp?) who had something to say, but conveniently got quiet on the Glenn/Freddy posts.

AT LEAST BE F'ING CONSISTENT! graemlins/cussing.gif
