What are some of the most political lyrics out there. Any genre is cool smile.gif

These were my father's favorites......He instilled a great deal in me. Allowed me to see all sides of the coin.

Simon & Garfunkle - Sounds of Silence

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turn my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
No one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools," said I, "you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said "The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence"

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

There must be some kind of way out of here
Said the joker to the thief
There’s too much confusion
I can’t get no relief
Businessman they drink my wine
Plow men dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody of it is worth
Hey hey

No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke but uh
But you and I we’ve been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
The hour’s getting late
Hey

Hey

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Bare-foot servants to, but huh
Outside in the cold distance
A wild cat did growl
Two riders were approachin’
And the wind began to howl
Hey
Oh
All along the watchtower
Hear you sing around the watch
Gotta beware gotta beware I will
Yeah
Ooh baby
All along the watchtower

BTW, Dylan wrote "All Along The Watchtower", and I've never really been able to figure out what that song is actually about, so I can't really say it is political in nature.

The Clash, on the other hand...

The Call Up

It's up to you not to heed the call-up
'N' you must not act the way you were brought up
Who knows the reasons why you have grown up?
Who knows the plans or why they were drawn up?

It's up to you not to heed the call-up
I don't wanna die!
It's up to you not to hear the call-up
I don't wanna kill!

For he who will die
Is he who will kill

Maybe I wanna see the wheatfields
Over Kiev and down to the sea

All the young people down the ages
They gladly marched off to die
Proud city fathers used to watch them
Tears in their eyes

There is a rose that I want to live for
Although, God knows, I may not have met her
There is a dance an' I should be with her
There is a town - unlike any other

It's up to you not to hear the call-up
'N' you must not act the way you were brought up
Who give you work an' why should you do it?
At fifty five minutes past eleven
There is a rose...
Yeah!

(how many times since have we heard a brotha singing about ecological concerns to a mainstream audience??? few indeed.)

Oh, oh, mercy, mercy me
Oh, things ain't what they used to be, no, no
Where did all the blue skies go?
Poison is the wind that blows from the north and south and east

Oh, mercy, mercy me
Oh, things ain't what they used to be, no, no
Oil wasted on the oceans and upon our seas fish full of mercury

Oh, oh, mercy, mercy me
Oh, things ain't what they used to be, no, no
Radiation underground and in the sky
Animals and birds who live near by are dying

Oh, mercy, mercy me
Oh, things ain't what they used to be
What about this overcrowded land?
How much more abuse from man can she stand?

mercy mercy me...as sung by marvin gaye

What's Going On
(Al Cleveland/Marvin Gaye/Renaldo Benson)

Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya

Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Ah, what's going on

In the mean time
Right on, baby
Right on
Right on

Father, father, everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply because our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Oh

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Tell me what's going on
I'll tell you what's going on - Uh
Right on baby
Right on baby

Niggers are scared of revolution but niggers shouldn't be scared of revolution because revolution is nothing but change, and all niggers do is change. Niggers come in from work and change into pimping clothes to hit the street and make some quick change. Niggers change their hair from black to red to blond and hope like hell their looks will change. Niggers kill others just because one didn't receive the correct change.

Niggers always going through bullshit changes. But when it comes for a real change Niggers are scared of revolution.

Niggers ****. Niggers **** **** ****. Niggerrs love the word ****. They think they're ****ing cute. They **** you around. The first thing they say when they're mad is "**** it." You play a litle too much with them they say "**** you." Try to be nice to them they **** you over. When it's time to TCB niggers are somewhere ****ing. Niggers don't realize while they're doing all this ****ing they're getting ****ed around. But when they do realize it's too late, so all niggers do is just get ****ed . . . up!

Niggers talk about ****ing ... ****ing that ... Fuycking this ... ****ing yours ... ****ing my sis. Not knowing what they ****ing for. Ain't ****ing for love and appreciation. Just ****ing to be ****ing. Niggers **** white thighs, brown thighs, yellow thighs. Niggers **** ankles when they run out of thights. Niggers **** Sally Linda and Sue. And if you don't watch out niggers will **** you ...

Niggers would **** **** if it could be ****ed. But when it comes to ****ing for revolutionary causes Niggers say ****! ... revolution.
Niggers are scared of revolution.

One of my favorite bands.

P.O.D - Breathe Babylon

Babylon Breathe Babylon

I see you people babylon and on and on
Graven images, golden idols and false icons
I'm seeking wisdom like Solomon
But my antenae keeps on picking up evil transmissions
At headquarters I receive my mission
Blow up the ruler of the air like nuclear fission
So I analyze my weapons, laser guided rifles that shoot spiritual wisdom
I think I see enemy warriors,
Fragile heathens tryin' to run stuff like mayors
So with brotha's that snuff punks,
I set up time bombs to destroy the strong holds of Babylon

Babylon Breathe Babylon

We be tribes under grace, a righteous minority
Decadent culture make you forget your spiritual priority
Back down by the movement, soldiers who will serve ya
Open to be used by God, destroy you like Medo-Persia
Jewel of all kingdoms, live evil, purified Hurrah take you down
Don't look back, overthrown you like Sodom and Gomorrah arm of the law
Guilty of all crimes I be like the great Prophet Isiah
Predict your fall over 150 times, got rhymes you could never use
For the purpose you be using, I'll dance over your fields
Present day Iraq still lies in ruins lies,
Schemes, backstab persuasions bumrushed
Get crushed by us, this rescue invasion

Babylon Breathe Babylon

Look to the sky, heed the warning
The shadow is coming, the shadow is coming

The plagues are coming, the plagues are coming
I feel the breath of the Death Beast

Misled bureaucracy, full of hypocrisy
I gotta steel pulse, looking for a true democracy
Destruction, now your walls have fallen
Just sitting here waiting for the train to Zion

Sit down in the dust, Babylon without a throne to call your own is 47:1
The city has fallen, she has fallen golden images of it's god
Lie shattered on the ground

FREE TO BE SLAVES
By Piratebrain Featuring David Moore

You try to tell us that we are free
Free to be slaves of your regime

You try to tell us that we are free
Free to be slaves of your regime

It's mighty funny how the eagle flies
It's time to check the pockets were the eagle hides

It's mighty funny how the eagle flies
It's time to check the pockets were the eagle hides

All the lies you keep trying to sell
Eat your words and go to hell

Even though we're not free we won't be used for you dirty schemes
Even though we're not free you can't take away our dignity ,yeah

What they want is a peaceful change
So the pockets of the pharaohs remains the same
They'll declare war as a slick diversion
eliminate the problem continue the perversion

Even though we're not free we won't be used for you dirty schemes
Even though we're not free you can't take away our dignity ,yeah

Gino Vanelli - Powerful People

Look at the powerful people
Stealing the sun from the day
Wish I could do something about it
When all I can do is pray

It's a lonely afternoon
With nowhere to go but my room
And Sunday when there's time
I think of these things on my mind
And I don't know
Where I will go

Look at the ominous people
Draining the salt from the sea
Wish I could just stand up and shout it
Why can't they let goodness be

Oh it's a lonely afternoon
With nowhere to go but my room
And some day when there's time
I think of these things on my mind
And I don't know
Where I will go

Come on you world won't you give a damn
Turn on some lights and see this garbage can
Time is the essence if we plan to stay
Death is in stride when filth is the pride of our home
Wish I could just stand up and shout it
Why can't they let goodness be

Oh it's a lonely afternoon
With nowhere to go but my room
And Sunday when there's time
I think of these things on my mind

Oh and Monday there's no time
So I close both my eyes and I'm blind
And I don't care where oh where is my prayer
