person has just been brutalized both sexually and physically by a group of men and starts to yell "Grape, Grape!!!!" when discovered the officers ask why the person is yelling grape....the reply "cause it was a bunch of them"

I think he alluding to the post about C-Murder and that it is ok for murders to be raped in jail.
No woman, man nor child should ever have to experience this type of hate. I have no clue who C-Murder is put if he is going to spend his life in jail for murder, he too has lost his life.
Funny, I may have lived with a murderer my whole life due to my father being a vet (I never have asked him, don't want to know), does he deserve to be raped........oh but what, we call this duty.

Rape is rape regardless of which gender it is happening too. It should never be joked about. But there is so much irony in this thread, that it is ok in one instance but not in another.
Bottom line Rape is Rape, there should be no joking about this.

whatever the context or purpose of this joke surely ones got to accept that on a public forum like this some people might be pretty offended by a joke about rape, and that goes for the jokes on the c-murder thread too. i'm assuming magus has never been the victim of this terrible crime. now i'm sure if u replaced the p with a c and someone without firsthand experience posted a joke about it, certain people would pipe up and wouldnt accept the value of the joke in that context.
certain things are just offensive full stop

i didn't read the c-murder thread(yet), but i'll say this: if a rapist gets raped i won't laugh, but i would feel a sense of justice. magus, you're one of the more engaging people on the board and now i understand(hopefully) where this came from. i do see the bigger picture here.
and that is one to grow on....

in college, i sat around watching this classic with about 4 or 5 guys. during the imfamous rape scene, they just went into hysterical bouts of laughter and pursued all types of punch-lines about the ned beatty character. but something i noticed is that the laughter did not spring from any comedic appreciation.
they laughed because they were nervous. they laughed because silence sometimes speaks louder than words, is often misinterpreted, and says way too much. they laughed because, IMO, they didn't know what else to do. but they certainly did not want to reveal to each other that they were upset, apalled, or even afraid. anyway, just thought that was interesting in light of today's thread.
BTW...no, rape is never funny and no one ever "asks for it," regardless of who it's happening to. and those "don't drop the soap" jokes people are so fond of telling, don't invoke as much as a smile from me.

there is nothing funny about black people killing each other, and regardless of musical choice or economic status, I for one don't rejoice when a BLACK MAN is sentenced to LIFE IN JAIL....we already have enough people in America who are gladdened and will profit from his incarceration...
