Say MarkB, Though i never been to the Roxy, I definitely know about the Roxy's impact on the Hiphop scene(Good Lookin on bringing that spot up)Just like Bond's International around the 42ndst and Broadway area in Manhattan, And Broadway International Uptown(Harlem), Say Musica, If i remember correctly, I think the Charles Gallery was Uptown(Harlem), I could be wrong though(The spot sounds very familiar), Also, McCoys was located on 43rdst and 3rd ave when Pete Dj Jones was mixing there in 1972 to the mid 70's.

Say Dj Skillz, I definitely remember Bronx River Center with Bam(Afrika Bambatta),Jazzy J,(Zulu Nation)putting it together musically my man,(I think Bam started doing throwdowns/party's at Bronx River Center in 1975), Also, Echo Park is another spot in the Bronx were cats/young Ladies used to get crazy loose, Cats like 'Cool Dj Aj','Mean Machine',Disco King Mario(Rip),Funky Four(Dj Breakout), and many others would do much work up there(Echo Park), I don't know whatever happened to the Magnificent 7 from Uptown(Harlem), Inner City Disco was another spot that used to rock back then, Remember the Celebrity Club on 125st Uptown in the early 80's(LOL).
