My journey began a week ago. It was so interesting as I read Genesis then Exodus. My questions began to build and build. Now, I love God and know he is the beginning and the end. Maybe some things though, are just not meant for me to know or comprehend like, why didn't God just nip all the bad stuff in the bud? Instead of sending plagues, allowing brothers to kill each other, relatives marrying one another and having babies together ext.
I believe God is all seeing. I dont know why he didn't choose to slap that snake out the tree before he slithered his butt over to Eve and tricked her. But my faith is strong. So I will just continue this fascinating book and try to live as my Holy Father say's I should!
Any one read from cover to cover yet?
Peace, She-Pisces

Well I have.. and had a study class every night from my Moms.. she was a pioneer in the Jehovah's Witness organization, she was like a Preacher.. so I had to read and break down what it meant.. :scared: I have to go back and rehash some things to get a grip on things.. :)

You are my role model!!! *Smile*
My mom's was the same way (not preacher status, yet faithfully religeous). But I listened out of duty and not interest thus forgetting most of it all cept the main ideas.
Now I'm sincerely interested as I get more serious about my life.
P.S. You were blessed to have such great direction! No wonder you turned out sooooo beautiful!!!

this is a link to Though The Bible.
you can go through the bible 9 (audiobook) from Genesis thru Revelation with teacher J Vernon McGee. The whole audio series is available for free download. I recommend going through the bible with J Vernon McGee for beginners.
Some people prefer audiobooks to reading.

Was just curious but, what do you think of prophet's? Not the "Call me now types", but the more proven skilled ones? What's your take on them?

Peace, She-PiscesMy understanding is that God gave man a free will. And man decided, "I will do it my way". That's why there are problems today.

Yes, God Did give us all free will. At times, situations can be so tempting. There was a time when I felt it would be easier if God made a world with out evil, eliminating the bad from the get go, to bypass all the trials, test and tribulations.
But now I'm at the faith maturity level Where I can appreciate his gift of choice. I appreciate how much faith, tollerance and forgiveness he has for us. It makes me WANT to try harder to do the things that pleases him. It makes every choice made just that much more meaningful. I would rather EARN my place in heaven than to be just given it.

My pleasure! Like you, tears come to my eyes even when I'm praying to him sometimes, actually feeling his warmth and unconditional love!
I'm a heathen, no where NEAR perfect...... but he loves me anyway. Amazing!

And he can think for himself.
I have read the Bible two or three times through. Personally, I find the teaching of the Buddha a more relevant.
