Baby Want's To Ride - Jamie Principle (The Trax Record Version)

That version they pressed & sold sucked almost as bad as WGCI does.

The original basement tape is the best one.

Oh, the version of A Path that was sold.....oh please save me, it is pure gabbbagggge!!!!!

I would have to say that early Z-Factor stuff (Jesse Saunders) was wack. The exceptions would be 'Fantasy' and 'I'm the DJ,' but 'Fast Cars' and 'Thorns' are horrible!! His later projects as Le Noiz on Trax sucked, too. But I guess we should give him credit. After all, he invented House music, didn't he? ;)

magic_juan

P.S. That was sarcasm, for those who don't know. Peep this interview he did for CoatCheck magazine:

*********************************************
LN: You have been quite the innovator (taking disco and marrying it to techno, that was at that time, from overseas).
Jesse: Everyone will say it. Everyone knows it! But to correct you, it was Disco that married R&B, Electronic dance music from Italy, and even New Wave that contributed to my origination of HOUSE MUSIC
*************************************************

You can read the entire interview here:

The raw version of A Path was dopeness.I also loved Frankie's version where he blends in Vigro Tracks.Classic shit there.

I did used to like Funk you up.The track version being the best.Hell Ronnie used to stomp that track. That's the background for Sensuous Black Woman goes Disco.

I had 3 copies.I only have one now and it is a promo. There was a version that played at 45 that had the bonus beat track on it.They were released on Jes-Say records.I know of 3 different releases. If it's on Streetfire,it's a re-release.All of my copies were black and white.

Gotcha! The one I have is red and black, plays at 45 RPM, and the best track is the second version on the A side. Thanks, J ....

I mean Jamie is singing like Morris Day on a bad day and then they go into a military drum break while a trumpet player is playing "First Call" like it's a marching song as he sing America bashing lyrics.

you gotta hear it to really graemlins/puke.gif

I have something on ram's horn with (get this) Barry Levan (?!?!?!) doing a remix of The Jimmy Castor Bunch "Watch me now", which had turned that classic jam into shitty freestyle beats and the vocals were done in a Las Vegas lounge singer style?!?!?!?

Leonard, Jamie - us Brits only got the wack versions of all these classics by the sounds of it.

Damn someone should repress the good versions.

Actually, some of the copies I have of early Jamie stuff is show copies. You hear him clapping the mike and all.I will have to get together with Remix and work something out.

Remix, did you ever finish the edit mix?I listened to the whole thing and it was bugging my brother and cousin out.The part that got us was Disco Duck.

lots think tyree's 'i fear the night' is the worst of all time. I like it though. In fact, i love all those old records, even the ones considered 'bad' cause its a part of the history.

some of those old cuts are painful to listen to, but isn't it almost like comparing apples to oranges? i mean we're so used to hearing stuff produced with state-of-the-art electronics that it's kinda like jumping into a model t and bitching about how it handles.

As for Get the Hole, there were 2 version. One by Lidell Townsell and the other by Dem N*ggas. The latter is tougher to find.
