Just recently while I was in London, a certain dj asked me if I was up on Ben Mays, and I said I knew Ben and had one or two of his singles. Then my "dj" friend goes on to say that Ben Mays is the mother fuckin' man, and he really dig his stuff and proceeds to pull out about 7-8 of his records! I was like "damn!" I didn't know Ben put out all those releases. I heard other guys here in Chi say that Ben is a deep brother and he gots some shit!! Now I see what they're talking about. I listen to each one of the singles my friend had was like "Damn, Ben does have some nice pieces!" Big Ups to Ben Mays (and his sexy ass sister Aisha) ;)

its good to see Ben gettin love for his shit. i go back aways wit him too. I was at the the playround/E2/candy store/clique...that joint, when Ben did his first (I think) solo shit on stage with this cut called Loverman. It was some tight music for us to be so young. I need to hear his stuff. And Aisha is just aight, damn, get off her tip.

C'mon Vince, you know back in the day Aisha was one of the flyest women on the scene. Unless you know something we don't.

Haven't talked to Ben in awhile. I edited one of his releases for him. I still see music from Ben on different compilations. He's also a deep brother. We had some good convos while working on his music.

I don't know Ben Mays but I do remember Aisha. In the 80’s, she hung around some people I knew (Jasper, Kenneth Wallace, Vince, can't remember the rest). I remember her being very stylish, tall & slim.

I saw her (Aisha) about couple of years ago at a party that Lora Branch (yeah the dj) had for a film that was going to be shown on PBS. I believe it was the party that I first met E-Phi and Greg G.

She looked good.

SPG Jasper and Kenneth Wallace, huh? I see you hung around those very manly men. smile.gif I still see Aisha from time to time. Still stylish, tall and slim (even after a baby) and still looks good.

You know, they brought a certain vibe to the surburban kids. They were all preppy and stuff . I have this image of Aisha in riding boots.

I met them at a Jack-n-Jill ski trip (not sure Aisha was there). Kenneth like me (don't laugh) and he was all into tennis.
I saw him later (in life) in Atlanta and he had a boyfriend with him (yup smile.gif

I was so young then icon_rofl.gif

SPG </font>[/QUOTE]Funny. Yes, I would say Jasper and Kenneth were very preppy. And in the interest of full disclosure, I was the first boy Aisha ever kissed...or so she told me at the time (1980). http://deephousepage.com/smilies/rofl5.gif

I loved Jasper/Kenneth/and dark skinned Vince. I had never met anyone like them. Jas/Ken were such characters and totally into material/designer stuff (like they owned the runway or something - haha). They were like a troop or something.

i remember all them cats. If you're gonna bring them up, you gotta mention Everett and John Jordan. i've always told peeps that coming up on the house scene had to be the most unique shit of the time because you were exposed to everybody and it taught you not to be intimedated (sp) by people just on GP. I had to laugh when I read those names, cause I was friends with all of them. Kenny passed away a few years ago from what i heard. holla

Haven't heard any releases by him but loved his remix of "Shoe-B-Doo" by Bas Noir. Very jazzy affair.

I believe I have couple of his songs, didn't he do a cut called X-rated or something named like that? It was on Voodoo records.
