why don't they just make a CD/Mp3/Vinyl turntable? the models are big enough! then with two units you would have access to whatever format you want!

The positioning of the pitch does look awkward but I'm still interested since I planned on purchasing some Numark Axis-9 CD players very soon. Any word on the expected street price and release date?

I've been looking to purchase a CD mixer for a minute. Not sure if I want to purchase another component from Numark after the problems I've had with my mixer. It's an attractive mixer, but can it do the job?
Peace

Peace It's a player, not a mixer, and the Numarks are reputed to be very reliable.....JMJ

Peace That's funny because I usually call them "CD mixers" too.

I can attest for the numark products. They are very good quality, reliability and functionality.
A friend of mine who works for a distribution company just told me that Pioneer just discontinued their cdj-1000 series and are releasing a cdj-1000 mk2 series to replace them. He didn't know what modifications are going to be made to them, though.

does it have all of the functionality of the Pioneer 1000?
He really didn't know too much about it. All he could tell me was that it was going to have everything that the 1000's had plus more. He didn't know what the "more" entailed, though.

I'm in the market. I was gonna go with the Pioneer 800 because the prices are droping due to another CD model being released in August. You can get the 1000 for $899 and the 800 for $700

since the cdj-1000mk2 is being released, I've already seen guitar center advertising the original 1000 for $799.
Like someone said, I don't know what "more" the 1000mk2 has over the original.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the "more" has something to do with the virtual vinyl platter.
I bought a 1000 when they first hit the market. The 1000 is like the 1200s of cd players. The bad side of the 1000 is that once you get used to using them you won't want to use any other cd player. I'd pay the extra couple of bucks and get the 1000.

Well, the 800 and the 1000 work and feel the same, but the biggest difference is the feature set.
I think they're probably gonna combine some of the 800's features along with what the 1000 already had. I'm not totally familiar with the 1000 but the 800 came out after the 1000 was released.
Anyone think they're gonna do an 800mk2? Or just blowout the 1000?

It appears that they have added the functions of the 800 to the 1000 mk2, ie the automated loop buttons.
This should mean bargains to be found on the original 1000, I hope !

Wave
Allows DJs to read the CD visually (just like the "groove contrast" on a vinyl record) and to find a cue/break point quickly and easily. The data can be stored on the internal memory or on a Multimedia Memory Card (supplied) - either way the information will be read and displayed every time a CD is loaded.
The above quote is taken from a description of features I read on the new CDJ-1000 MK2. To me this is mind blowing. Can the current CDJ-1000 do this?

Yeah, it's like looking at the grooves on a record. You know how you can look at the grooves and see where the break is and all that? The cdj shows the song in a wave format and you can see what parts of the song breaks, blah blah blah.
This part sparked my curiosity -

"Legato Link makes CDs sound more like vinyl" so thats the point of the display counter
You know there's sooooo much that the cdj can do. You know the memory card that can store all your loops? You can transfer the info on that card onto another card (I just found out about this)! Like Frankie Feliciano once told me, this is a fine piece of craftmanship.
