Ohhhhhh Lord,Im going and searching deep in the crates and keep bumping into some of my favorite labels that I no longer see in shops,this time its Eightball Records,my goodness,when I play these gems again,its like spring time! Joi Caldwell tracks"Trouble" and 250lbs.of Blue "Raisin to the Top" whoooooo! what your favs on this label???I mean I dont want to name all the ones I have.Lets have some fun,go search and take a listen...Again..wait the last track I bought back in 2000,"I need you Tonight"(Kimisha Holmes) dammmmmm!... smile.gif

I really dont know,last I heard they still had a Record Shop,and the last Eightball Record i bought was in 2000-01.But I still enjoy thier stuff.Manny I hear you and "Trouble" all the mixes are still slammin!!! That Lectroluv,dammmmmm!I have to type some more tracks,let me search and Ill write them.Oh ok hear we go "Reach"(for your soul) (250lbs of Blue feat.Kelli Adams),"Enjoy Life"(Wave),"Lovin you in Heaven"(Robert Aaron feat.Michou) ,oh Lord! this track is deeeeeeppppp!..Keep em coming peeps. :D

I always loved Joi Cardwell's "Good Bye".

One of my favorite songs from the Eightball label is 'Work the groove',(I cannot remember the artist right now), Very nice instrumental joint from around 1994/95.

wow, this thread is bringing back some great memories.

I'd have 2 agree . The Critical record was the dopest. Still play that often.
And then there was the other Mood II Swing EP...just instrumentals...can't remember the name though.

My fave Joi Cardwell record was the "So here it is, 4 am,...."

Louie Balo used to so some slammin stuff for them too. Remember the "Boogie Balo" EPs?


After Kevin Williams left for Nervous, they never regained their step.

New Breed had some slammin ass tracks as well.didnt know they were part of Eightball,its goes to show peeps,that we dont know everything...lol Orion that Sister Sister is wicked! of course The Funky Fusion Band "Spiritual Ep" is slamming! a few more please... smile.gif

Sorry, another essential Eightball release that I just come across & forgot to add to the list - Lectroluv Returns 'Stormy Dreams' (EB 012)

Hopefully one day I'll have a filing system in place to make it easier to dig these great tracks out from my collection.
