To all the old house heads who use to (and still do smile.gif " get WBMX or GCI mix tapes, sometimes third hand, and have an ear for that authentic, FM distorted/compressed sound. Am I the only one that gets tingles, not just necessarily for the mix, but the (un)clarity of audio and the way it validates the dj's authenticty in venue. No matter how nice a track comes through in a digital format, the vintage 84-86 FM on analog tape sound grabs my soul. I think this is the level of listening that seperates the old and the new. Sometimes when you hear the FM station going static, then coming back, you image that hand on the dial somewhat making you feel by drastic measures You did it. Further validating your love for the music.
Was that a run on sentence? Just a thought 2:38 am.

Dude,
That is exactly what my last post was about!!! I just submitted 3 post in a row just because I experience the same exact thing. I was up way past midnight on a weekday listing to old crackling analogue mix tapes! The sound of 84-86 where the shit.
