Please name one good party other than the Shelter.
That's always packed.
Just trying to see how well house music is doing.

But, I've done parties were we would have only 50 people and they would be dancing to they would hurt.
But, that space didn't last long.

Soul in the Hole </font>[/QUOTE]Bang is every Saturday at 667 in Brooklyn. I'm not sure who will be playing that weekend. Soul-G and I held it down this past weekend. Jellybean is playing this coming Saturday. It's the perfect pre-Shelter warm up for a lot of heads, myself included.
Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself when you come through. Peace.
to answer the question, i went to dj Marv's new party last week, called Black, at a spot called Kendejah, it was a great space, great wooden dance floor, and it was a party that catered to the dancers and the dancers responded, to me that was a good deephouse party

I hate these questions about because you always end up alienating people/parties and/or alienating yourself with those people because of what you deem "good" or "not good". I'll try to focus on parties with a consistent 75+ heads.
At risk of leaving things out for lack of memory Washington DC has the following:
Red on Saturday nights with either Oji or Doug Smith is a staple both with dancers and normal club crowds and stays packed and is 5 years strong if not more.
5 on Saturday nights with Taha and a variety of big names usually stays crowded with a combo of dancers and a general club crowd, is more than a year old and consistantly gets 400+ people.
Red on Sunday nights with Sam "The Man" Burns is a staple since back in the State of the Union days so its a good 7+ years strong with very consistant numbers and a great family of people there pretty much every week.
Kendejah in Wash. DC with Chi Chi, Marv, Curtis Lee, Stevie G etc. has gotten great reviews around here thus far and seems to be going quite well.
Sanctuary just bought their own space and will be back starting next weekend with Sam Burns, Shadrach, Oji & Pope, Doug et al and is at least 3+ years strong I think (Doug/Sam correct that if I'm wrong or under-estimating).
Mandrill on Wednesdays @ Andalu is pushing 2+ years and has consistent good numbers from what I understand, I haven't been in a long time.
Saturdays @ Andalu with Moncef or Mandrill has been going for a while as well and doing consistent 150+ heads (I'm guessing)
Every other Thursday @ Red with Tom B is steadily pushing 100+ heads on average.
There are others as well... Open Door just celebrated 1 yr, Lemur Lounge is pushing near 2 yrs, Abstract Motion is close to pushing 1 yr, etc etc.
Actually... now that I'm typing it out, it didn't occur to me that we had so many long running parties in this city especially considering the amount of parties on that list that have had the same DJ or group of DJ's for the length of time listed.... not bad.
Peace

Is Fun at Frank's still going? What he said.....and, Ffun is still rocking strong on Fridays and so is Underground Collective with Master Kev, Marlond and Uncle Phil D. on fridays.
Also....
BKNY on Wed. at 667 Fulton...place gets pack by 11pm
Chateau Noir on Weds.....many guest djs
Duplexx on Friday nights...the vibe downstairs is hot
Glass on Sat....Mike Sarkus has the place rocking, the women are gorgeous!
718 Sessions....a monthly party
David Mancuso's Loft parties....bi/tri monthly...gots to be in the know.
The scene is robust and there is always a stomping party on any given night....just have to keep an open mind and, as TAC said in another post, just have FUN and PARTY....leave the critique cap at home.

I'm scheduled to play at that 'Black' party in DC next month.
For the New York heads, don't forget about Jump 'n Funk with dj Rich Medina. It's technically an afro-beat party but Rich always transitions into deep house when the dancers are 'ready for it'. He gets about 250-400 people at this once a month event. This month's party is this Saturday, the 26th at the Martinez Gallery in Brooklyn.
