my fourth time last night in Cologne.
they're still the best. as always, a tight show, 2 1/2 hours of music non-stop (they have never cheated me out of my money). i love how they've gone all "rock", too. if you haven't ever seen them, go see them. and if you're not into hip hop, go see them anyway - you'll love it. forget about 2 decks and some poses - it's 100% live.
considering the current situation, The Legendary Roots Crew came correct. the show simply started with a full play of "War" by Edwin Starr, with everybody singing along for openers. midway through the guitarist (i forgot his name, but i recall him being introduced as someone from Living Color?) cut up the "Starspangled Banner" to 2000 peace-signs. the show ended with an incredible non-stop looping of Marvin Gaye singing
war is not the answer
war is not the answer
war is not the answer
war is not the answer
for what seemed like 10 minutes.
nuff said. now go see 'em.
peace. ngeso.
