Hi Martin
Haven't been for a few years. I always give it a swerve these days. Been to Good Times a few times and never really had that great a time. It's so crowded and getting home is horrible afterwards.
All my mates always wanted to go to Sancho Panza or whatever it was called - horrible music, completely at odds with what carnival was supposed to be about I always thought. Ho hum.
what a miserable old git I sound! Haha!
Have fun if you're off this weekend though.

it can be hard work at times, but I always feel it's worth it. Taking the kids is great fun. I enjoy the procession and wandering around taking in the different systems and tucking into patties and jerk chicken. smile.gif
I agree Sancho Panza should be given a wide birth, although I do like my Good Times graemlins/cool_shades.gif

you'll probably hear the spectrum of music you'd get at Carnival at FK's Deep Space night. He brought it here a few weeks ago. Don't miss it! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I always thought the same about Sancho Panza, but I think we all got them mixed up with someone else.
I heard the dude from S.P. play about a month ago, and he was playing some great music, soul, rare groove, jazz, hiphop, disco etc. Definately suprised me when I found out who he was.
Definately no trance or similar.

After many years of thinking about it, I decided to give it a try this year just for the vibe, although my fears about transportdo go along the lines of what Jolyon was saying - what's the best way to get into london that day? I normally park at cockfosters and get the tube into london, but I heard some tubes stations are closed? Advice anyone?

if you come in by tube avoid Ladbroke Grove/Notting Hill stations - head for somewhere within walking distance of the action and get off early - I'd recommend you do the same on the way home. Sunday (Family day) is a little less manic and a more mellow vibe (the best day imo) so London's poorly equipped public transport system would probably be a bit easier to deal with.
Despite the hassle it's worth it.
Have a good one! smile.gif

greetings, indeed it can be full of hassle, but it can also be great! after much experimentation, i think the pink line (hammersmith and shity) actually comes into it's own this weekend. Get off and westbourne park and walk down. hope the weather's good and have a great time.
