It's time for another "Baia Degli Angeli" remember party and i want to share with you
the pics on that site!

In the mid-seventies opened a club in Gabicce, near Riccione (where the IMC is held),with two
New York dee jays ,Bob(Day) and Tom(Syson),that attracted all the hippest young people from all over the country.
Then(77-78) the duo has been replaced by two young
italian dj Claudio Rispoli(Mozart) and Daniele Baldelli and the club became even more famous
being the only after hour club in Italy, big system and progressive music presented in seamles
mixes.
Those years were very difficult for Italy and it was a period when many young people got into heroin that was the drug of choice back then, just as extasy now,and the club at the end closed its doors in 1980.
The seed was planted and a whole host of other disco inspired by "La Baia"(even though the beauty of the place has never been matched) started their life in northern Italy.(Tom Savarese played one of them for big $$)
The sound switched slowly from disco/funky/fusion
to more elettronic music(and Italo disco) and new wawe sounds and eventually at the end of the 80's the sound changed dramatically:
I don't understand why all the deejays that were involved in the italian disco scene(mostly are still plying theese days)developed their style into something that's quite strange, and indeed very big in northern Italy and Austria...a scene that's called "Afro":this merges african percussion traks, speeded up ragamuffin, speeded up samba reggae and batucada/brazil stuff, roots reggae, and elettronic sounds(not at the same time ;) ).
The roots are still very good and i can't look forward to go to this classic party(wich is held in the same building of the old Baia wich now host a commercial mega club, that for that night leaves the original two floors near the pool to the old aficionados or the young "i wish i could ..." boys like me;) )
The music played in the early days was:
