Ron Trent ( Giantstep NYC\African Blues )
Since 1982 Mr. Trent has been developing his style and broading his talents as a dee-jay and producer. Growing up in the city of Chicago Ron learned the arts of music at an early age from instruments to listening to 12'' inches in 1979 at his fathers record pool. Ron started developing his skill as music programmer in 1982; later to start creating a name for himself in 1987 on the Chicago music scence. Ron helped to pioneer the sound of Chicago with his influence of music felt worldwide with his release "AlteredStates", and later with his currently owned label Prescription Records. On the search to find other musical inspirations Ron found himself in New York , where he currently resides as the Resident Deejay for Giantstep. Over the years Mr. Trent has released various amounts of musical material and played around the world from Japan to Germany. His style encompasses journeys of Jazz ,Soul, African, and Electronic music working with groups and artists such as: Jody Watley, Amel Lariuex, Anastacia, Tony Allen, and 4 hero.

Check out his current albums and CD's : "African Blues" (Distance Records), "Urban Afro Blues"/ Mix The Vibe Compilation (King Street Sounds), "Giantstep Sessions"( Giantstep Rec./K7), "Batidos"(Six degrees), and Electro Funk Jazz (R2 UK/ BBE).

James Vincent ( Prescription Records/ African Blues )
A 20 year veteran of the music. James grew up in the Chicago scene listening to Funk, Jazz, and Soul. Being a part of those coming up in the late 70's and the era of the 80's Mr. Vincent got some of his influences from Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy and later Larry Leavan. James translated his skill into radio shows and events he conducted as a DJ in the 80's. James is one of the founders of the Timeless Production company which put together the legendary Sunday nights at The Edge of the looking glass in Chicago. James took his skills and musical direction to another level by working at Sony music NYC. There he used his skills to bring success to the likes of The Fuggees, NAS, Maxwell, and Groove Theory as a director the black music marketing department. James is currently the manager of the infamous Prescription Records and resident DJ for African Blues. Look for his up and coming compilation on Prescription Records.

Lee Collins ( Soul in the Hole )
Windy City Super Jock, Lee Collins, has been serving the funky grooves to Chicago's music lovers and party goers for over 20 years. Born and raised in Chicago, Lee Collins has been playing records since he was 13 years old. Lee began as a student under such DJs as Andre Hatchett, Frankie Knuckles,
Farley Keith, Robert Owens and Ron Hardy. Soon, Lee developed the kind of progressive funky soul sound that he is known for today.


In 1983, he began a college radio show on WHPK in Chicago called "Disco Madness". The show was named after the album containing his favorite record "Let No Man Put Assunder" - First Choice. According to ratings, by 1985, "Disco Madness" was rivaling WBMX's Hot Mix Five. In 1986, Robert Williams, owner of the Music Box, opened Fridays at the club for Lee to do a sequence of
"Disco Madness" parties.

In 1989, Lee did a guest spot at a club called "Bad Boys" in Chicago and was asked to be resident. Lee rocked the party from 10pm til 10am every Saturday until it closed in 1990. The next year, Lee collaborated with long-time friend Anthony Nicholson to produce their first 12" single: "Thrill Me" -
Rhythm Section.

Later, Lee teamed up with Sadar and Russoul and formed a production company called "Soul in the Hole" and have a weekly party at Slicks in Chicago every Sunday Night. Sadar and Lee are currently in the studio working on the "Soul in the Hole" album.

After 20 years, Lee is still a major figure in Chicago's dance scene and plays every week to a packed house.
