Greetings:
After 29 hours we finally got light. One of the major Con Ed plants (14th st/Ave C) is 6 blocks from my door on the same Avenue. Ironic, to say the least that they took care of their own neighborhood last. This is after they continue to pollute the immediate area since day one.
Oh well,
d

Sheepshead bay got power around 730 last night. Ohio will be out for a few days. I live in the Bronx (Riverdale) and my power didn't come on until around 8:00am. I work in E. Flatbush and they didn't get lights until sometime after midday.
My assistant worked 26 straight hours; my boss worked about 20 hours Thursday to Friday, then came back Friday night and worked until sometime after midnight. I worked from 10:00am Friday until around midnight. One of my operators worked 36 straight hours because, while she got relief after 24 hours, with no subway, she had no way to get home.
But the record breaker was our Sr. VP, who worked at least 48 hours straight with only 1 or 2 hour catnaps.
Ahhh, the life of essential personnel!

sending out some prayers for all the Detroit and other midwest peeps who are still in darkness... We had it easy. They've got curfews and no water.
