so it's one last blowout, a load of free beers and jazzy fruity cocktails, a special screening of the jawdropping Talking Heads live movie 'Stop Making Sense', and then four hours of the tunes that made the dancers dance....

tunes that cover funk, soul, diva disco, cosmic boogie, proper house and techno, balaeric shimmies, cheesy ones yer ma knows and a bit of whatever you're having yourself.

packed down in a tiny basement cos we all know that's the best place ( the only place? )for a music and dancing related party

it's five and a half long years since we started 52FUNK and began to bring the likes of Unabombers, Metro Area, Nick Holder, Boo Williams, Theo Parrish, Lindstrom and Prins Thomas and Mr Fingers to the capital, pushing them for sets that extended out beyond the confines of the house/techno ghetto that dublin clubland seemed to be trapped in at the time.

with nightflight on the go in button factory, a festival in croatia in the summer, gigs beyond the pale and across the seas for 2009 ,we thought that maybe 52FUNK had said it's piece at this stage.

so it's one last blowout and its bound to be, as the man says, emotional....see you on the dancefloor!
