For so many blacks to question the qualifications of Arnold Schwarzenegger is alarming and a glaring indicator of the slave's unmindful willingness to do the master's work.

Same as with the Bill Cosby Emmy debacle, blacks still make it their UNCONSCIOUS mission to uphold the standards that have been used to keep them outside the mainstream. One must ask themselves from where these "qualifications" originate.

Are any of those who deride Schwarzenegger aware that he provides millions of dollars to philanthropic causes, much of which reaches the black community through his after-school and sports programs?

Are any of those who question his "qualifications" aware that he has maintained a net worth of close to one billion dollars, much of which has been made through business and real estate holdings throughout the US?

Do any of those who question his motivations know how much money the Governorship of California will cost him in lost revenue?

This man has been courted by the political machine since the 80s. He has been behind closed doors with several sitting presidents, politicians and captains of industry for more than twenty years. He has managed to survive in the most political industry in the world to be the reigning box-office champion and highest paid actor in history.

Now ask yourself what qualified Louis Farrakhan to hold a march on Washington D.C.

Or what qualified Jesse Jackson to lead protests for change the nation over.

Or what qualified Martin Luther King to demand civil rights on behalf of millions of individuals.

Or what qualified Malcom X to present the plight of American blacks to the world political arena.

Or what qualified Nelson Mandela to unearth change in South Africa.

If you use that same yardstick you unmindfully measure Schwarzenegger with, the answer is NOTHING.

Louis Farrakhan
(being leader on a political based organization that had the funds and resources to make the Million Man March happen)

Rev. Jesse Jackson
(being the next in-charge to carry the movement on)

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
(he as a human being living in a so-called "civilized society" that was completely tired of abuse and not recieving justice / being allowed to live [in use] of his constitutional rights as an American)

Malcom X
(His first amendment right as an American and becomming a outspoken public figure - gave him that right. What better way to get what you want for your people from their government than exposing that government and this great country of ours for what they really are...bold face liars)

IMO that sums it all up. Arnold has the right to do what he did and I have no problem there.

Bold, thanks for breakin' things down and putting some fact-based info out there! I truly feel enlightened!! Arnold has always been A-okay in my book. We've all said and done dumb-ass things in our youth. Why should mistakes made when we were young, immature, inexperienced amd impressionable count so heavily against us later in life? graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Mr Schwarzenegger is definitely not the first person to make the leap from entertainment to politics. I don't remember this level of mudslinging with anyone else.... BOO to the naysayers, Arnold got the job and I'm sure he'll do just fine. He has intelligence, savvy and chutzpah. Not to menton he'll have one hell of an advisorial team. He won't make any decisions without doing his homework!!

Peace,
HML

BTW - Brother, I was privileged and honored to attend the NY premiere of 5150 aka The Disappearance of Donny Bishop. Meeting and chatting with the fella who brought it all together was an added bonus. Continued success on the fruits of your labor Bold. I will be purchasing a copy of the film for my DVD collection! :D
