View Full Version : Is this your local Tower Records store?
Every time I enter the local Tower Records store I am amazed at the phuckin' mutants who work there. Not only are their physical appearances repulsive, but their lack of custumer service skills is appalling! mad1.gif I've found the sales associates to be aloof and unfriendly. They are more interested in holding personal conversations, with their fellow weirdos, than assisting customers... At the checkout counter the attitude is often "You need to be rung up right now? Dude, can't you see that I'm talking here?!?" graemlins/jpshakehead.gif http://deephousepage.com/smilies/wtf.gif I swear, if you were lying on the floor, clutching your chest and gasping for air, these mutant-freaks still wouldn't ask if you needed assistance!! AR15firing.gif They would step over you and say to their buddy "Whoa dude, did you see that guy over there breakdancing?!? http://deephousepage.com/smilies/madani.gif
And why are they allowed to dress so slovenly?!? The dress code seems to be "dirty, grungy, sloppy, unkempt, raggedy". I guess Tower doesn't want to burden its employees by requiring them to wear uniforms. Wouldn't want them to look too professional!! And, God forbid, they might be identified as someone you could go to with a question!!
There is a large psych center located not far from the store and I find myself wondering if this is where they find these people. I have nothing against hiring mentally handicapped folks. But c'mon, if they have no social skills then they should not work with the public!!

Whatever. All I have to say is BANK OF AMERICA - especially any branch in Los Angeles proper.
Man, it doesn't get any worse than that. Ugh. How would you like to have your money held hostage by those bleach-blond, everyone is from the same neighborhood back in Croatia, give me six more peices of ID since I don't like the way you look-ass broads.
Shit - that came off like Ed Norton in the mirror in 25th Hour. Sorry - mad love to all my Croatian heads. :D

I hear ya loud and clear Bold Soul (aka Donny ;) )! The bottom line is, in any place of business, we all would like to be treated with courtesy. Employees who look and act professionally are an asset because they send a message that they know what they are doing (Even if they don't)! I too have issues with persons from foreign countries who treat me like I'm the alien...

In the words of their employers. "What the hell do you expect for minimum wage?"
I've never been in a Tower Records store. Thanks for the warning......JMJ

I once worked for minimum wage and I was ALWAYS polite and friendly to customers!! The amount of money you're being paid isn't going to immediately bestow "people skills" upon you!! If you ain't got 'em, you ain't got 'em! graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Peace,
HML Clearly that's the wrong attitude for these people to have. People from a foreign land in a foreign land treating foreigners like foreigners?
Next time you deal with these foreign types I suggest you wear a t-shirt with the words "USA is A-O.K." Foreigners like a little reassurance. graemlins/tongueout.gif

The above could describe those bunch of fools also.....
Me: "Could I have a medium coffe, skim milk and 2 sugars with 2 donuts"...this, by the way, is a #1 on their menu.
Tired ass excuse for a customer service personnel: "What do you want in your 2 coffees?" or "That's coffee black with no sugar" and then you either get the wrong donuts or none at all.
I truly hate customer service reps....common sense goes out the window when the customer steps to them. Good customer service reps are truly an endangered species. I so much prefer to deal with one of those automated machines....less headaches.

As far as Tower Records:
I used to work there years ago graemlins/acclaim.gif , and I know for a fact everyone from the 'mutants' to the top execs smoke major chronic; when our store opened, the head honchos came out to celebrate & they all got blown out that night...
Seriously, they told me it's a policy that they never wear ties at board meetings. They started out long ago in Sacramento as a small mom & pop (not soda :D ) store and kept their hippie ideals even as they grew into a corporation.

generally better service and better music I buy the bulk of my music online so, I usually don't shop there. However, sometimes they have good sales. I also like to browse the clearance racks because I've found some rather expensive House import CDs marked down to ten bucks!

The only problems I've had a Tower Records are the enormous prices for their records. I normally know what I want, so I normally don't deal with the salespeople.
Retail stores have a serious training problem. Many retailers will hire youth and immigrants at minimum wage without proper training (knowlege of the department and/or product they are selling).
Most knowledgeable salespeople I've dealt with: Super Runner's Shop. They're all runners and know all about running shoes and what shoe is right for you. (foot shapes, running stye, shoe technology, etc).
Least knowledgeable salespeople: Foot Locker. Whoooooooooooooa! The ones I've dealt with didn't know jack! Peace.

The manager is a big, phat phucker who is just as unapproachable and unfriendly as his staff!! graemlins/jpshakehead.gif I've been coming in and out of that store for five years now and he still acts like he's never seen me before!! My place of employment did a cross-promotional event with Tower, the guy showed up for it, we even spoke briefly. Next time I saw him at the store he had that same "I-don't-know-you" countenance!! He too is a useless mutant!! mad1.gif

This is funny. You can throw in Micky D's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Subway.
Are they still advertising that "Get your meal in 30 seconds or less" for Micky D's? That concept did not go too well in my area. Chicks got attitudes up the yin yang and all of these places and they wonder why they work there in the first place.
The only place I enjoy getting my food from is Wendy's. Although I'm not too crazy about their food with the exception of their salads, they serve their food very fast. You're practically driving your car as they hand you your food. They have been consistant for a number of years and they deserve to be commended.

i went to a Best Buy this past saturday, to buy a bunch of dvd's...so i'm going through all the dvd aisles one by one, looking at every movie, and had a considerable handful of movies to buy...every aisle is wired with bose lifestyle speakers, and they decide to crank up some mtv, new rock type stuff, at an ear piercing, obnoxious volume level, in otehr words, f*ckin loud...place sounded like yu were at the concert fot he whatever band's cd was playing. so the two employees who were stocking the aisle i was currently in were having a conversation, and when the volume went up, their conversation turned into a screaming match, in my ear no less. then they decide to play wrestle. at one point, they rolled onto my shoes...and didn't even acknowledge i was there. while i was paying for my dvd's, i told the casheri that maybe they shoudl turn the music down a bit...her only response was that she had no control over that and just shrugged her shoulders and said 'sorry'.

Don't shop at tower records. The answer is, there are a lot of independant shops that give you the level of service you want. I give them all my business.

customer service is just a story people talk about. it isn't true. most places i've been lately are horrible. i here workers complaining about having to work. you know like clean stuff up or help someone. thing of the past my friends. too many distractions. with all these mega this and that and so many consumers it's easy for chain stores to lose custromers and not notice. where and what you buy is like casting a vote.....

1) The music playing too loud
2) Employees engaging in horseplay
3) The non-chalance of the checkout girl and her unwillingness to resolve a rather simple issue.
I woulda been steaming for sure!! graemlins/cussing.gif It is insane that stores hire people who treat customers with such blatant disregard!! Its pure bullsh*t and I am fed up with it!!

i thought i answered all their questions apropriately but they rejected my application right on the spot (letting a computer pogram decide my fate). so i am like hmmm, maybe they did not need the help but they went ahead and took my personal info anyway.... or maybe i did not prove be 'muntant' enough to their muntant detection systems. graemlins/conf44.gif
i do agree that customer service sucks all over nowadays... even in some of the independents.
thats why amazon loves me. smile.gif
