Just got an edirol pcr1 from a friend. It' s a small midi controlled keyboard. The first time I hooked it into logic everything worked fine. But the second time the device started disabling all the audio on the computer as soon as the usb is plugged in. The controller works. You can see it record notes on logic and the eq is alive. The midi connection itself is diabling the3 computers general sound. Be it itunes logic, or a command sound from the computer itself. I have swapped out the usb cable. Rechecked the preference set up and midi utilities connection and can not figure out what is going on. Again is strange because the midi keyboard worked fine the first time I plugged it in and set it up.

The Edirol PCR1 is also an audio interface. You need to use the Audio MIDI Setup to tell the Mac what you want to be your main and system outputs. This is typical for all MIDI controllers that have a sound interface.
Here's the link to get the manual:

I believe I have all ready done what you suggested though. Here are a couple of snapshots of how things are configured in the midi control utilitiy

solved the problem. Basically in Logics audio preferences under device the edirol was selected. What fixed it was making the divice built in audio. Thanks for your responses.
