Had a massive power outage last night and when the power came back on, there was no cable. So I started skimming through my DVDs and decided to pull out "Transformers: The Movie". Got tired of the movie so I decided to check out the interview with Vince DiCola, who created the score for the movie. Alot of good music throughout the movie.
I had no clue that this guy was responsible for the score of "Rocky IV". That score was a huge inspiration to me when I was learning how to play the keyboards. He later stated that Keith Emerson of Emerson Lake and Palmer was a huge influence on his work. I always find myself searching for old ELP and Yes music from the seventies because there was alot of experimental and innovative stuff coming from that era.
So, not only are Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock are my biggest influences, I'll have to put Vince DiCola right up there with them.
Peace
