DHP, I am trying to write an article called, "Are we our own worst enemy?" What I would like to know, what mistakes or choices have you made in your personal life that you can't blame on anyone else but yourself! Things like ruining your credit at a young age. Getting involved in an abusive relationship. Dropping out of high school/college. Not following you first mind. Fathering children and not being a father. Basically, things you regret that you have done...This is for a startup magazine coming out in Chicago in the next couple of months. So please give me some feed back. Thank you...

BHouse You've covered quite a few of the most common errors in your list. The one thing I would add is to not look at them as regrets, but as lessons learned.

thanks for asking BHouse

i think it's better to worry about the road you on than the road behind, nothing can be done but lessons can be learnt, as Wild 1 said.

Are some things down to our own individual make up also ?

Can a regret be something that you may be born into ?

interesting.. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I was my worst enemy for years. I never knew that until two years ago. I actually numbed myself with liquor and drugs to get away from myself. I also blamed others for my downfalls (if I hadn't listen or hung out with them I would have been better off). I always tried to change people around me not knowing I was the one needing to change. I have no regrets just as Wild1 said, I learned from my experiences. I had to really do some soul searching, forgiving, allowing others to love me and changing to understand myself. In addition I used my relationship with God as a foundation to become a new person and love myself.
