Greetings Peeps .. Just wanted to share yet another crazy story. This one comes courtesy of a very good friend of mine.
-----
Last week Wednesday or Thursday, after a day of work and seeing friends, she pulled into the back parking area of her house. It was about 9:30 in the evening, she was by herself. As she got out of her car and walked to the gate she heard a male voice behind her say:
"This is a robbery! Give me all your money."
She turned to find a twenty something aged guy with a gun pointed at her. She told the guy:
"You don't want to do this. I don't have any money on me. All I've got is a bag full of bills .. look .."
She opened the bag she was carrying and showed him the bills she was carrying. He said again:
"Give me all your money!" and she kept insisting to him that she had nothing and that he didn't want to kill her.
Then (according to how she told me the story), he burst into tears and started apologizing to her. He said that his woman had moved another guy into the house right under his very nose after he'd done everything he could to support her. He'd been wandering the streets for a few days hungry, not knowing where to go and not wanting to go home to his parents because he didn't want them to think he was a loser.
---
Here's the part where my eyes bulged out even more in amazement: My friend, I guess feeling sorry for the guy, invited him into her home. She told him to leave his gun outside and she'd make him some food. So the would be robber left his gun outside and followed her in. She made him food, listened to him and tried to convince him to go back to his parents.
--
She told me he ate, apologized profusely for pulling the gun on her, promised to go to his parents, then took off.
-
I'm just relieved my friend is alive .. Very shaken up but alive and well. I feel for all the people having a weird/bad month. Last week I heard a guy I saw around here and there had been murdered. The news really hit me 'cause I'd seen him a week earlier in the club.
-----
Well .. That's it. I think I'm going to spend the night here in the office 'cause now that I've finished telling the story, I'm a little scared to walk out to my car and drive home ..
