Manchild has gained a cult following over the last several years as the singer of the local hip hop soul group Urban Folklore. A proponent of what he calls "raw soul"-an acoustic funk format, buoyed by blues roots and lyrical message of uplift-Manchild brings to the music scene original songs, a thrift-store bohemian sense of style, and awarm and inviting spirit. Like the music of his idols Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, and Bill Withers, Manchild wants to both entertain and educate through inspirational songs and spoken word about life, love, and self-discovery.
