Who's buying the majority of Deep House? Before you answer that, note that Deep House is one of the few genre's whose dominant media for new releases has remained vinyl. DJ's are the backbone of Deep House record sales. It's not that surprising that a board called the Deep House Page would be swarming with filthy DJ's...

Which is why the genre has stagnated - the music is dependent upon the DJ.

For it to be homoginized and bastardized for the sake of increased sales would dismantle its purity as a discreet genre. Yes, Dance music, made expressly for dancing to, is played where people dance. By DJ's. This has been the case for over thirty years.

-G Good Day Mr. G-man.
Well, for one...I think that people here take the opportunity to exchange ideals as DJ's. But then again it becomes a rat race at time's about who was first to play this, or what equipment that's being used and why etc, etc. It kind of over shadows Topics that could have Substance and a look at life itself.
Thru it all, it's mine and my Hubys best site of all time.
As far as the Dj's are concern...I think most of them are using this as a tool to help generate Busines for themselve's.
There is 85% Dj's here. Maybe you could have a "Great Battle of the Dj's elimination Tournament DHP style to see who stays or who go's"!!!!
No Edit's, no DR4's, record to record Blending, true old school fashion before DR4's and new Technology was invented!
That would Eliminate a lot of Dj's!

<<<Someone walking up to him, whispering in his ear>>>

Huh...what do you mean mix-off?

She said let them eliminate each other...nobody said anything about mixing!

<<<opening coat with various knives, throwing stars, and other weapons inside>>>

Besides, all I got are these weapons! I didn't bring no stinkin' records!

<<<Walking off into the distance with his head down, muttering>>>

Fraggin' nonsense...if you say killin' then it oughta be killin' involved....

haha I really pulled that number out of my ass so to speak, but I would be willing that if you included up and comers, established DJ's and bedroom DJ's who just buy records they like because they can't find them anywhere else, I'd be willing to bet it's not that far off. Granted, I'm not saying 85% of the people on here are full-blown, full time, hardcore DJ's that are trying to do this for a living....

Going along with that other topic, where else are you as a house head gonna find most of this music except for on vinyl or on MP3 sharing/download sites that are being shut down left and right ?

Peace

Rob
