Hey,

Can someone please tell me what song (original) has that "annihilating rhythm" phrase in it?

Thanks,

M.

Thanks, but I don't think this is it. This also had someone saying "slaaaaaaaaaaaave....to the rhythm." I've heard it in several house mixes and it's a capella. :conf44:

I have that but it doesn't have what I'm looking for. Is there some special version of it?

Wow!!! This has the samples I want. Do you know what albums these came from? I guess that "annihilating rhythm" sample is from Grace Jones's album but it's not on the one I have. These samples in the Free Flow mp3 sound a capella. What do you think?

I think I'm confused. Are you saying that the samples are on the Grace Jones album?

this is what i was answering ....the track on the free flow does not have an acapella over it ...its the actual record using those samples ...

Ahhhh, okay. I understand now. Well, to state my question differently then, I'll ask this. Where can I get the "clean" (no music) vocal parts for "Slave To The Rhythm?" I wish I could find the mix that has what I'm talking about. But, listening to the song you were talking about, it still sounds like they had either the a capella of STTR to get that "Annihilating Rhythm" part, at least.

Maybe someone will come out with a collection of vocal stabs one day. LOL.

Thanx.

There's an old Mantronix record from his hip hop years that has a clean sample of that. I think it's a the very end of one of the songs.

REALLY?!?!?!? I have a lot of his stuff but I don't remember that. I'll dig around. Let me know if you remember the title.

Peace,

Izm

I used to use an accappella off this 12" in the early 90's.
It's probably what you're looking for.

the ORIGINAL version (what you are asking for) is indeed Grace Jones.
it's a spoken word/interview track on the 'Slave To The Rhythm' LP called "Operattack"; after a minute into the interview it goes into various effects applied to Grace's voice.

it's also a B-side on the promo 12" (http://www.discogs.com/Grace-Jones-Slave-To-The-Rhythm/release/905256), and thus pressed a little louder & cleaner.
