I have seen some great performances in the past by a lot of great artistslike George Clinton and Wynton Marselis(sp?). Some big time guys and sone just starting out. They have a specific area for each type of music there. Jazz to gospel to rock to Native American to African to Second Line to...well..pretty much anything. I have come to hate Mardi Gras and don't even go anymore. I find the crowd at Jazzfest to be more mature and intelligent. There is pleny for the family or just the adults as far as food and drink(the beer is kinda costly though). Great local restarants put out a spread you would not believe! I love it and will go next year if I am still here. Let us(me,Javier and Saadir) know when you are coming up. Peace.

thanks walter. i'm not to keen on mardi gras anymore. i want to see more new olreans than nu tourist, if that makes sense. a co-worker metioned this and i've been lookin' up info and links. i gotta say that it looks damn tempting. my mom's side of the family(french-creole) we're from the new orleans area, so i've always had this weird tie to the city b4 i even knew i had family there. my bday falls on the 24th of april, so i thought what a great way to spend it. i should know within the next month wether i make it concrete or not.... but it looks like too much to pass on. thanks and i'll keep you(z) all updated. thanks again graemlins/thumbsup.gif
