I wonder how Ron Hardy did create his edits. I heard that he did it with just a taperecorder and it's pause button. I'ts really amazing!
I once heard an Lil' Louis remix of Let no man put as under' wich he made with a tape recorder.I just can't believe it. The edits sounds so tight?
I often try to do that but I often fail. Of course you have computers today. But I think that's no sport. Does anyone have any tips for me to make the edits tight?

Ron used both a reel to reel and a cassette deck. The trick to cassette editing is to have a deck that has "toggle" switch type buttons. That way when you release the button it starts up immediateyl avoiding the delay of pro-logic buttons and other push button decks.

When Ron started using reel to reels, he used the splice tape method (2 points cut and spliced together). It's an art that requires practice and patience.
