...and I've been grappling all week with whether or not I should mention that today is the 8th anniversary of Tee Scott's earthly death. I've been especially anxious after my extended whine on Tuesday about the loss of my great love. I didn't want to burden my DHP family with too much grief.
But I think about how Len, my ex-husband, was closer to Tee than any other member of my family and that they are now probably partying in heaven along with the other great DJs and partyers.
So if you think of Tee today, don't offer condolences. Instead remember the parties, clubs and mixes of his and dance a step or two in his honor because, you know what? Tee's Happy!
Thanks for reading this.

the last time I saw tee scott was at vinyl. It was the last time he played. myself and carlos sanchez walked in the booth and he was sitting on a chair mixing and totally killing the floor. It was inspiring to see because shortly after he left us. That is one of the experiences in my life that makes me enjoy life more. life is for living theres no giving up. rest in peace sir you are still here. one love

Melanie, I believe that you posted some time ago that you have tapes of his mixes, maybe recordings of live mixed sets. What would be the possibility of getting those to somebody to press up for a release. There are folks who never heard Tee's magic, unlike LLevan for whom live mixes have been made available, through one means or another. Or, what would be the possibility of compilation of his mixes being pressed up?

I never had the pleasure of hearing Tee live, but he has certainly left his mark in this industry with his classic productions.
here is to you Tee! graemlins/beerchug.gif

That cat who sang "Don't Turn Your Love" was bartending there, if I'm not mistaken (Master Kev and I were just talking about this). It was a great party with classics and new stuff. Tee ripped it.

Mel Cheren told me that the biggest hurdle would be getting copyright releases. I will accept any help you have to offer.
Another problem is that a lot of this stuff is on DAT and I don't have a working DAT machine. ToeKnee helped me with about 7 CDs, but just IDing the music require a very well trained ear.

I am more familier with his productions more than mixes. His music has had a profound impact on my music and the one mix I heard on this page was great and made me want more. Please give us the gift of his mixes,Wild I. Peace.

I know they are both hangin' out with some of my favorite people up on that dancefloor. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive with all you share with us. I did not know about your ex-husband though Melanie and am sorry to hear the news. I believe I may have met him at the Jamboree 2 years ago, if he is the person who came to our picnic table. Stay strong Melanie.

My Mom taught in Paterson so she would cringe that I used to go hang out over there - LOL!! Cheetah's was really one of my favorite clubs in NJ - nice set up. He used to rip Adeva - "This is your last my final warning...."

Stay strong Melanie. Yeah that was him. You fed him. He loved the food. He had just popped up out of the blue after not seeing him for 7 years and not speaking to him for 2. I believe he came to say goodbye.
Thanks for remembering.
