I've been looking for these for YEARS.

I picked up 3 at Vinylmania yesterday. They sound great and now I can leave my damn Maceo record at home.

Maceo's "Soul Power '74" b/w "Cross The Tracks" 12"

Fred Wesley's "Blow Your Head" 12"

Bobby Byrd's "Hot Pants...I'm Coming" 12"

The one I really need is the "I Believe In Miracles" 12", which I didn't see.

Reissued on Urban? Or another label? Or boots?

They're definitely not boots.

They are re-issued on Urban and they look exactly like the old pressings. Same white jacket with a photo of the Empire State Building on it.

Was Urban records associated with those "James Brown's Funky People" records. You know, the purple ones.

It seems like they pressed a 12" for almost every one of the songs on that first "Funky People" LP (which I lost years ago dag nabbit!!).

A year or two ago all this People stuff was re-issued on a couple of different double or triple packs that sounded great. I never did pick them up cause it was a lot of product at once and I had several of the titles.

I would like to check out this series as I heard the "Blow Your Head" 12" at Vinylmania recently and it had a different version on the flip I never heard before which was pretty darn good.

I always assumed that the Urban 12" and People reissues were by the same team...they came out about the same time as I recall - 1987?
