what do you want to know? it's the new york mix - personally i don't like the full vocal version much but i like the instrumental mix on the b side - it's always gone down really well whenever i've played it out too.

of Dance, Rock and New-Wave/Post-Punk since he started.
Most of the non-disco 80's stuff he remixed is a
%1000 percent better after he's worked on it.

My side of the story on the Smiths (and some other rock remixes from the 80's)
-I was hired to do the thing, didn't quite understand why. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/conf40.gif
-Booked the studio, went and did the thing in a few hours.
-Left the studio, sent the mix and never thought about it again. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/outtahere.gif(I thought the instrumental mix was pretty tight)
The label loved the mix, http://deephousepage.com/smilies/clap.gifI was told the band hated it; http://deephousepage.com/smilies/Disappointed_anim.gif no hard feelings, I'm not really into most of their stuff either. graemlins/sleep2.gif (except for that "How Soon Is Now" song, which was actually quite good)
Around that time, really enjoyed working on Eurhythmics remixes, U2, The Cure and Midnight Oil. But I also did do a number of possibly cheesy ones http://deephousepage.com/smilies/yawn.gif(Loverboy comes to mind).
Belated apologies. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/conf45.gif
It won't happen again.... graemlins/nono.gif

i remeber that Morrisey from The Smiths saying in a interview back in the 80s he doesn't make sex at all and he doesn't like black people (another sucker)
The label was 'rough trade' a glorious label from the 80s and the only talented thing was how the guitarist johnny marr was playing his rickenbacker guitar.
nice cover sheets anyway with jean marrais on it and a touch of feeling from the beat genearation
when FK will make a remix from 'throbbing gristle' or 'chris and cosey fanni tutti' ?!?
they had some heavy funky drums on some tracks like 'trance' (rough trade 1982)

I have heard the others but not that one "The Power And The Passion" (Columbia) 1984 The dub mix was one of my favorites!! Quite edgy with a good reggae/ska undertone.

Regarding U2 remixes and such, a lot of people were actually dancing to those in rock clubs.

Last summer, I was going through my Midnight Oil flashbacks, listening to Deisel and Dust album. My son, 3 at the time, kept wanting to hear the "DO DO DO song".
These guys know how to rock! We need them back!
I'd love to hear any remixes of their songs, especially this one :
-----------------------------
The Dead Heart - "DO DO DO song"
We don't serve your country
Don't serve your king
Know your custom don't speak your tongue
White man came took everyone
We don't serve your country
Don't serve your king
White man listen to the songs we sing
White man came took everything
We carry in our hearts the true country
And that cannot be stolen
We follow in the steps of our ancestry
And that cannot be broken
We don't need protection
Don't need your land
Keep your promise on where we stand
We will listen we'll understand
Mining companies, pastoral companies
Uranium companies
Collected companies
Got more right than people
Got more say than people
Forty thousand years can make a difference to the state of things
The dead heart lives here
----------------------------------
I'm sorry. I have been known to go off on tangents.
did MO approach you for a remix or you to them?
