Half of the drama that pops up on this board would not be going on if some of you guys would get off these damn computers and support each other.

Through the years I've scene relationships grow and friendships turn to dust over childish and ridicuous (Seinfeld) threads.

I've scene projects come about as a result of people communicating over this and other boards, and I've scene potential parties go down the drain due to some people depending on Message boards to get their message accoss.

I wonder what would be going on if there was no internet.

Some of us need to take a walk instead of a drive.

Peace

You know what I think the problem is...on these boards people not only post what they'd say in person, but what they are thinking too.

Most of us would not say what we are thinking when are in front of someone...that's the truth and you all know it.

Boards are 'too' real if you ask me.

smile.gif I agree.

Human empathy goes against the impulse to be discourteous. For most who sit in front of a computer monitor, there is no face, no set of eyes, no vibe, no soul - hence, no way to see yourself.

After that, being a prick or cunt is easy.

smile.gif not sure about the first part but, true on the second. some folks talk big shit under "fake" names. present company not included.

i wouldn't underestimate the power of this board and others for getting the word out about events. for every person who's signed up, there are 3 or 4 lurkers.

i sometimes find it bizarre when folks introduce themselves to me under their screen name and never reveal their real name.

there is a lot of good that comes out of this board. unfortunately, there are some who use (misuse) it for negative purposes.

smile.gif I agree with you 100%.

Stop hiding behind you keyboard and mouse and let your mouths do the typing when out in public.

one of my girls who frequent this board got ignored by a female member of dhp who knew damn well who she was...flaky, yes - but then, if you look deep enough, you'll see posts reflect a bit o' the character of posters...

but it's all still literal masturbation, for most of these intellectuals can actually live skit-so-free lives outside of dhp...

But then, drama has its own value. Drama can be a powerful force for understanding.

My POV and communication style has a dramatic effect on people. I sometimes experience enthuastic agreement, but I also receive vehement disagreement - and several different shades in between.

But you can count on me to hang with the drama and not fizzle out with some ol "take my ball and go home" shit.

Some folks start off well but don't follow through with the same quality. I think that's the main source of drama on the DHP. But then, that's the main source of drama in life itself - AIMLESSNESS.

well, groove...i met my hubby on-line and i've been out there as well...i wasn't "looking", but i opened myself up to the possibility one night whilst bullshyting...

never blast a man's way of going about a beautiful thing...the end result is all that matters - after all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions (translation: you meet hoes in church, too...)

Recently I had a revelation and it pretty much explains my distaste for the scene as a whole. I see alot of talented cats on these boards that are straight up "Hatin" on people but they're keeping it under closed doors. I'd rather meet people who are more involved in the scene but don't depend on these boards to get the word around about new tracks, DJs, and parties going on.

I've had many conversations with some cats here on this board while visiting New York and I've never scene someone bring up such negativity during one of these conversations. It's only when we're "Logged in" we're able to (for some strange reason) to spew out so much garbage that it gets to a point where it influences your thinking of what's really goin on in the scene. Now I can see the light and don't depend on these boards any longer to see what's really going on. I've stopped listening to online mixes cause I really don't care who's playing the latest and greatest. It all sounds the same to me. I'd rather hear skills than a new joint any day. I've payed more attention to my own life and what I need to improve it. Music is a very important part of my life but when in reality, watching my son smile everyday beats my passion for music in a heartbeat. I really don't have a care about the latest and greatest because it's all the same monotonous noise being regurgitated every 6 months.

Now are my feelings a result of this board, yes and no. Yes because I failed to realize that there's more out there then just you guys posting your mixes and your parties that I'm not exposing myself to. No, because for a number of years now, the music has not been what it's capable of being. Some of you guys say, you need to move on with the times, and I say that's a load of crap because I'm not going to allow myself to listen to cheese. If the music has progressed to Cheese, then I'm not in it!!!

While people are arguing, there are other people out there doing their thang and not worried about what people think. Where can I find these people, because I sure as hell don't see them here, with a minute few exceptions.

Peace

I'm happy to say that I have been able to generate revenue for others and myself utilizing this board. I've always saw this board as a means to assist each other when an opportunity came.

That is why I'm very observent of what others are trying to accoplish by posting on this page.I guess it's what you make it though.
