It's real. Check Espn.com.
I think NJ still needs a scorer who can create off the dribble though.

Let Mutombo start, bring Zo off the bench. Collins gotta go, see ya when I see ya. Train is the best 3rd string center you can have and he can play the power forward in spots as well.

I like the nets don't get me wrong but they still can't score enough to win a title with mourning Let me see if the Spurs get back to the finals which I doubt and the lakers get back to the finals and go head up with the nets because the nets are going to the finals again they will be the buffalo bills of the nba.
shaq----mourning edge lakers
malone----martin edge lakers
george/fox----jefferson edge nets
bryant----kittles edge lakers
payton----kidd edge even( payton a better scorer and defender but kidd is a better playmaker and runs a team better than any point in the league. sorry for this grim outlook but they should have brought in a scoring small foward like sharif abdur raheem and move jefferson to the 2 spot then they would be working with something.

If J. Kidd wanted to win an NBA title he would have signed with the Spurs.

The chances of ANY team in the West challenging the Lakers for a title appearance is slim...even a Spurs team including Kidd & Mourning. The Spurs were lucky that Webber & Nowitzki went down this past season..it is possible that they would not have made it that far.
Kidd, Alonzo and the Nets will be a strong favorite in the East, dont forget how they rolled through the Eastern Playoffs.
I think to challenge the Best of the West in the Finals is better than challenging for the entire season.

I think LA is going to have a chemistry problem. It may not rear it's ugly head until a tough loss in January or February to Sacramento. You can bet that it's coming. However Phil Jackson is the only coach who can keep those 4 hall of fame ego's in check. This may be Phil's most challenging year (aside from the 1st year without Jordan)as a head coach. I can't wait until the league officially tips off in the fall. Who said the NBA was dead?
