just a quick hello from the rural Indian desert. (i'm working here till next november on several documentaries with development agencies)

thanks for the kind words all. we're staying in Udaipur (where Octopussy was shot). In fact Octopussy plays everynight at the movie theatres here. Last night we slept in a 400 yr old fort that had tons of secret passages...


The music here is indreible too lots of blondie-disco songs with gorgeous string arrangements..Next month I'm off to the largest Record Store in India which is co-owned by an entire family that collects vinyl including the mom! (they also have an in-store record pressing plant!)

PS In Hindi someone who is a "char-so-bis" is a disobedient slacker. char-so-bis literally translates to "420"

Hope some of those CDs got you through the flight... That record shop sounds very interesting! Do you know if they have disco or dance music? anyway have fun! Is your email addy still the same?
