The return of Fast Eddie and hip-house are crucial to house music's survival on this planet. Really bad old school off-key female vocals turn me on too.......JMJ

Deep beats with afro/samba/latin/african riddims; Some more cheeky samples e.g. Beyonce and the Chi-Lites; The 303 squelch once again; Absynth cocktails; Party people with big smiles, hugs, and an appreciation for good music; Kicking soundsystems; After-parties with decks and cool dj's; The internet and DHP. Now THATS house.

Basically, more of the same next year...

Looking forward to a great 2004.

i'd like to see an end of the self-hating house music fan. we all know someone like this: you ask them about "the new great anthem" (example: that's how much i love you/rocketship/brand new day/etc..) and they find 500 things wrong with the music are overly critical of the music or the messages and generally f-up a good buzz. yet still they listen only to pick apart and diss..hopefully their run ends in 2004. graemlins/bolt.gif

- less segregation, and less bullshit ass politics within the house community (less backstabbing, less promoters trying to out promote each other on the same night etc..) we are killing each other from the inside out

- a new generation of jocks and producers to stand up and be counted, and for the labels, and promoters to give those people a chance to shine

- to see less clubs and record labels taking a loss of profit, if the money isn't efficient even more clubs and record labels will close shop

- for house to crossover to a bigger audience globally. there will always be an underground, no matter what scene it is, (for those of you who tend to worry about shit like that), but it's time for house to once again be a major force in the world of music (remember how much amazing house music was coming out on major labels in the late 80's and early 90's?)

- self confidence is key. you can't expect someone to find you attractive if you don't even believe that you are for yourself.

- if someone that you are interested in doesn't feel the same way about you, acknowledge and move on. no need in day dreaming your life away in hopes that this person will eventually come around.

Radio shows with real dj's and programming. The number of shows is growing already.

More House and other interesting music on the radio.

Clear Channel self destructing by boring people to death with cookie cutter commercial music.

man, remember the early 90's?..house was on the brink of mainstream. dee-lite/martha wash/cece peniston/ten city/robin s. what an innocent yet groundbreaking time. i'm 28 now and i wonder will we ever get back to that??? not to wax poetic and live for yesterday but it was a great time 10 years ago and i wonder if we can get that back.. i was listening to deelite's first album the cuts were "i believe in the power of love" and "i just wanna hear a good beat" and they still sounded great!!!

more experiments within the "soul" domain and more daring is necessary to get this music to another level. looking (way) back (when music was called music and not production), might help taking it to new places (just an idea).
bottom line- keep doing what your'e doing Fingers :D

Greetings all,

I would like 2 see more artist development. At the present, the producers is the artist, and take a more up front profile, in regards to an actual singer. Most artist are featured on a project. If u look at hip-hop, R&B, u see an image, and that particular market does not focus on the producers as much. In the dance market, we are more concerned with the producers of the song, and would probably not purchase a song due to the producer's lack of track record.

The last artist to leave our community with some development was Cee cee Peniston. Today's potential artist are KimBlee, Ambrosia, Raul Midon, etc. They have image, which no one is willing to take a real risk on them. Also, these artist should stick to one production company at a time, so that they can be fully nuture themselves into the business. I am talkin about Mowtown. Motown, they taught u how 2 speak, walk, and dress in conjuction with the industry. Only then, will we be able to take our music to the masses. Just like Zulu Nation, Kool Herc, and Def Jam , they are the vehicle for hip hop. It is just sad that hip hop has lost culture. I still believe in our music. Thank u. B blessed.

Peace Always
Wil Milton

The return of some of the (DJ) pioneers of this music.

MORE WHITE LABLE REMIXES!

Less politics.

And for this music to come to the forefront like rap music.

Oh and more women DJs!

I was able to provide the music for a Christmas social on Christamas day..They loved the music and danced all night long...

The reason I say this?
Our music does not carry much weight in Texas nightlife, and to be able to get the people moving and clapping to the beat asking for more blew me away.

More opportunities like that would be a great start for 2004

whew! i could be hee all day on this(but i know it would be pointless)
lets hope 2004 provides

to be
more interesting in terms of ideas in sight and sound and lets hope 4 a broader perspective
in whats precieved as HOUSE

hopefully the state of MEDIOCRE that were
Im mean midiocrasy in terms of muisc/events/etc...
(cause the state of subpar weekness was stagering in 03)
in passes with breath of newness and rawness

was there really a record of the year??

also I would 2 see a whole leveling off of the
supa sta DJ thing and more focus on actual
partys
as whole vibes instead of the who is playing madness

and less hacked up music and sub genre's in 2004
use all elements/producers & artist
and as WIll M said more development of ideas and artist a lil more thought process wouldn't hurt the final product
wether full body arragement or stripped down tracks
take yo time a lil before just throwing some half ass sh*t at us

also the state of conservative attitudes in house
is really a major problem on all fronts
sexism/homophobia/racism/hell even the newphobia.... is something that needs 2 be addressed

oh I wish people would finally stop using the term "soulful" graemlins/puke.gif graemlins/puke.gif graemlins/puke.gif if i hear this again I may strangle somebody 4 real

i'd like to see some promoters taking a chance and giving some of us in england a chance to experience some of the great dj's from the states (donna edwards in particular, karizma and sean smith wouldn't be a bad start). and also more playlists with the mixes on dhp - living away from a major city and with no local outlet it gets awful hard to hear new tunes (usually via dhp)and when we do it takes even longer to find out what they are.

more jobs = more money to invest in records/parties/producing tools/drugs/clothes/ideas = more selfloving people = more smile = more interesting things to debate = more love = more intention and motivation = more creativity = more passion spread and shared = more house = more people in da house = more demand = more musical and party related jobs = more house money = one nation under a groove = an opposition = a good balance = a perfect world for our house.
