GE-OLOGY:
GE-OLOGY has garnered a lasting reputation as a prominent DJ, gifted music producer and immensely skilled visual artist, it’s quite difficult to place him in a box due to the far reach of his interests, influences and abilities. He's known for producing prolific quality-driven music for acclaimed recording artists such as Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Sadat X, De La Soul, Jill Scott, Pharoahe Monch, Vinia Mojica, Res, Yukimi Nagano and Jem amongst many others (including remixes for PPP and J-Dilla, Pete Rock and Grand Agent and numerous releases of his own).
From America’s MTV News “You Hear It First” to MTV Thailand, throughout the pages of numerous print publications and magazines as well as his guest appearances on London’s BBC radio (Gilles Peterson's
“Worldwide” and Benj B’s “Deviation” shows) to J-WAVE on the island of Japan; his music playing out from
towering multi-story LCD screens on street corners in Tokyo to television screens and shows broadcasted in homes across the globe, and across the US throughout upscale emporiums such as Nordstrom department stores to his animated art airing on cable network’s Comedy Central, GE-OLOGY’s name, art, sound and likeness is likely to be found anywhere, defying geographical borders, genre, media arena or preconceived boundaries. Gracing elevated billboards overlooking downtown NYC streets in SoHo to producing a top 10 hit reaching #6 on the Billboard Music Chart (lead single from Welsh songstress Jem, whose debut album went platinum in the UK…an LP which GE-OLOGY also produced 2 other top songs) is clearly an auspicious testament to his ubiquitous creative fingerprint.
GE-OLOGY keeps dance floors jumping through seamless blends that coalesce from Rare Funk, Breakbeats, Classic & Future Soul, Latin, Free-Jazz, Funk-Jazz, Afro-Beat, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian Samba & Bossa Nova, Deep & Classic House, Detroit Techno, Dance Classics, Classic Rock, Underground & Classic Hip Hop, Broken-Beat, Roots
& Reggae, Dub & Dub-Step and more.
From the dance floor to the gallery, record shops to the TV screen, radio to the magazines, internet to who knows where he’ll end up next, rest assured…as quoted by writer Hua Hsu in Urb Magazine's 9th annual ‘Next 100’ issue, GE-OLOGY’s "on the cusp of something seismic". Brace yourself!
