Ok, I am that old, so the 70s to me was pretty distant, except for a few places and songs between 1977-79. For the peeps in the New York area...
Just to see who remembers what, here is a beginning:
Remember Greg Day and Wild Pitch?
Remember Fantasy and Blackball at Octagon with DJ Camacho?
Remember Nells Sunday and Wed nights with your truly mixing and dancin'?
Remember Funhouse and Aleems performing "Release yourself"?
Remember Roseland when Disco 3 changed their name to Fat Boys and Dennis Edwards and Joselyn Brown sang the chorus on stage?
Remember Kiss FM Master mixes in the day time where "good music" still was played duringt he day time?
Remember Nelson Roman "Paradise"?
Remember "Choice" with Craig Kallman, Basil and Richard Vasquez?
Remember the "World" with Larry Levan and David Pichioni?
Remember when Junior Vasquez was a "Baseline" and played Fingers, Lis Torrez, Double Exposure and First Choice?
Remember Danceteria?
Remember 10/18 with Roman Ricardo?
Remmeber Tony Humphries on the mix Saturday Nights?
Remmeber Downtown Records on 23rd Street and Music Factory on 42nd??
Remember when music was inovative with tracks like Rock it - Herbie Hancock, E2 E4 - Manual Gotsching, I feel Love - Donna Summer, Release Yourself - Aleem, White Horse - Laid back, Generate Power - DJ Pierre, Now I want you - Romanthony, Automan - Newcleus, The House Anthem - Marshall Jefferson, Mystery of Love - Fingers Inc, Stellar Funk, Slave, Billie Jean - Michael jackson and the list goes on and on to the break of dawn..
If yes, say hell yea =)
You can add your own memories and let's get this party started.... On the left and then on the right ya'll .. set it off..

But them made up for it by sending me like 5 promos a week for years ... graemlins/acclaim.gif

Remmeber Downtown Records on 23rd Street and Music Factory on 42nd?? Yo Downtown used to be my spot since the Lafayette st days. What ever happened to Albert? Last time I saw him was when his daughter was born, then he was ghost. Music Factory, I used to hit for breaks and bug out with Biz Markie. Yo the tall cat that worked in there knew his cuts too, he might not have joints that I was looking for "thats not out yet". But he would tell me who I could get it from....... Does anyone remember Sam that worked at Rock & Soul in the early 80's?

Shopping for Technics 1200s in the city, you're price was $200/each - sounded like a great deal until the dude said "want the headshells too ? AR15firing.gif they're and extra $150" graemlins/spanka.gif

Remember when Kurtis K AKA Mantronix worked at Downtown Records and played at the Roxy? Later, Ralphie worked at Downtown Records and then Phil D, the legend who is now at Dancetracks.
Remember the big fat white guy at Music Factory? I forget his name. He had those thick glasses and he knew basically every track and beat.
Yea, Sammy at Rock'n Soul. I used to work at Downstairs at that time. Damn those were some days... Those days shape your future.. Too many people missed out I believe.
Keep those memories up !!!

M-TRAXXX aka Manny Cuevas. What year was this? I can't remember playing hip hop there. I dropped that around 1988-89and stuck with hosue/classics.

M-TRAXXX. I have been in Los Angeles for the last 4 years, and I don't think I will be flying on for Junior =)
The days of SF was over after the days of Wildpitch. The best days however, were for sure when Junior played at Baseline and when SF opened up in 1989 and Christina worked there. I was just there visiting and I went to the Shelter and some of the other undergorund parties. However, I like to quote Stanley Kubrick when he said "I miss a New York that does not exist anymore."
I like the sunshine here =)

Duke, you worked at Downstairs? I used to hit that for some joints too, I lucked out in '88 (I think) I had a spot at a club in Jersey and needed to find the Reachin remix. Stopped through and got the last one that Downstairs had, some cat they were holding it for did not roll through. Can't remember this cat's name though, Queen Latifah used to be in there talking to him. I used to roll through Music Factory, and Downstairs with DJ Cheese looking for beats. I remember rolling through Central Park seeing Flowers using a Bozak with a mobile system, blew my mind in the early 80's seeing that. :D
Hell yeah!!!
