that V-Rod and me got turned away from the Darkroom last night (well this morning, about 1:00am) :( . First, after driving around for half an hour, we finally found parking about 2 blocks away (no big deal). Then, we get to the door and there’s a line graemlins/thumbsup.gif , about 6-8 people already in front of us to get into the party (again, no big deal). A group of people walked out of the place and the guy at the door tells V-Rod and me that “he’s not taking in anymore people”. So, we ask “for right now” and he says “for the entire night”. Just then we saw Torin, Jamie and DJ Quad. So V-Rod called out to them and said “their not letting anymore people in”. The next thing we know, we got snubbed! So we waited for about 5 more minutes and we still couldn’t get in. mad1.gif
Seemed like it was a great party.
Was anyone else turned away?
Sorry to hear that you guys didn't get in. I got there about 10 (that's 8 in V-Rod time). No trouble getting into the place. You missed a nice party......JMJ ;)

Hey,ya'll should have waited. After we saw them let those folks before ya'll,we knew you were going to get in.Sorry if there seemed to be shade thrown, mos def there was not.
Those folks on the door were trippin',due to them saying they were over capacity. They were not letting many folks come back in after leaving.
Once again,I'm sorry for what happened. To make sure you guys get in somewhere,I'm compin' you and V to the next basement event.Cool?

That was one reason I tried to get there early.I usually do that going to new clubs here for the first time, due to door policies.

Seems like the staff likes being in the power postion. For example, I was buying drinks and everytime I bought a drink I gave the bartender (the bald tall guy with the goat-t) a dollar tip. After the third drink and tip, I decide to buy another drink, but I don't tip the guy. He decides to ask me "aren't you gonna give me another tip?" I looked at him and said I was running out of money. He gives me this look like shit! I went too far! Last call happend so I decided to get my last drink and the same bartender refused me, so I split!
After all of that, Erika and I decided to go to this place to support A "DHP" function and this happens. I can understand if dude said we have reached our capacity limit and can't let you in at the moment, but dude said we are not letting noone else in. It was 1 a.m. the party ended at 3 a.m. If your a promoter and plan on using that place and it's staff, If I was you, I would have a talk with the dark room's staff about their policies and conduct before some from your crowd becomes a victim.
Should anyone hold an event, even another DHP event @ the Dark room, I will think twice before going thru the head ache we went thru. Hell I just won't go... PERIOD!!!
Peace V-ROD

Was anyone else turned away? darkroom was not prepared for the crowd that attended saturday. i think they were actually trying to keep (certain people) waiting in line but DHP was the reason they had the large crowd in the first place. i made a point to go out and get everyone i recognized from DHP who was waiting in line.
it was unfair for the bouncer to tell folks to go home (essentially) and i was not aware of this. the bouncer got an earful from one DHP'er and it basically ruined his night. you may have caught him right after that. once i was able to "cool him out" everyone got in. jaimie is right. you should've waited a few more minutes. eventually, everyone got inside.
one note for party goers though. never, ever front on the bouncer or try to make a scene. its a sure way to not get in even if you know the owner. it was very difficult for me to help people get in when some were sweating the bouncer (hard). that guy was there to do a job (and he did a good job). he controlled a very large crowd and kept things in order.
in the future, there will be a guest list even though the event is free. this will ensure that all DHP members are recognized and allowed quick entry.
sorry about the confusion and it will not happen again.
