This cat's blowin' in his new album, Standard Of Language. Just came out this week. And it seems like he's saying "screw Warner Brothers" (Warner wants to drop him, because he's not "smooth enough").

His last album, Happy People, was brilliant. He started off smooth (CD 101.9ish, but with more substance), and it progressed to straight ahead. That was his way of "satisfying" the Warner heads. But he doesn't care with this one.

By far the best alto player of this era. I've seen him play on quite a few occasions, playing every style under the sun. Truly a cat. Peace.

Kenny Garrett is a mother****er of a musician. i personally like him better on alto than tenor.
