SO you're taking the green pill? Cool i'm taking the red.
Friend of mine saw the showing for press and said that "all questions are answered" but he's not gonna try to catch it again.
He didn't spoil it for me in case i do decide to see it.

I hope you guys don't f it up for us who are waiting 'til all the loud mouth, phone ringing and answering, fried chicken eat'n, 40oz. drinkin', heckler screen yellin', 10pm baby carriage pushing, no shower taking, too much perfume splashing, assholes have gotten their fill of the movie.

...I think I covered them all.....

thank you.. :D

I just read a nasty review of it. I'm checking the flick out tomorrow night.

I thought the second one was lacking compared to the first. Hopefully the third isnt yet another decline.

The press reviews I've seen say it's a pretty dismal film, just special effects, not much plot, and even more of the 'interesting themes instigated in the first film' appear to have been dropped...

I'm feeling quite bummed out about the film already, and i so wanted it to be good...

I'm crossing my fingers that it will be worth it.

Tell you what guys since we're here talking about **** the press and A- from fans. Make sure you guys start a thread to say if it's worth the wait or not. Be honest. I liked part 1 but didn't really care for part 2. But i'm not going to dog the movie because the effects were killer.
Start a thread ASAP to give "heads up" on those people that are deciding to wait.

My friend that is a Matrix fan, and works for the press, said he "expected more" but "all questions were answered." Mixed review.

I love how they attack Harry Knowles as a "sellout", etc. It's hilarious reading over there.

I think that the "trilogy" wasn't as fully fleshed out as Warner Bros. is making it out to be. Hell, "5150" is a trilogy, because I'm a film nerd and trilogies are what we all dream of making (The Godfather, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, onanonanon...). If I had to produce a script today for parts two and three, however... graemlins/conf44.gif Not that I don't have the complete story in the back of my head and on various napkins and legal pad pages, but actual subject matter worked out for the screen...nope...

The Wachowskis made it happen with "The Matrix" and had more opportunity tossed at them, so they stretched the concept a bit thin, IMO. I don't mind one bit, 'cause I'm a huge Matrix head.

Just like Shayamalan and Tarantino (who haven't reached it yet, IMO), the Wachowskis are, at some point, going to have to tell a straight story. I wonder how they'll do.

Meaning…they don’t seem to even get what intrigues us.

Their way of reviewing Stars Wars, if it was done the same….would have been the same…

That the first one had brilliant special effects and all that but by the second one all that stuff was done….

But no one that loved Star Wars cared! It was the philosophical and mythological underpinnings of the story that captivated the hearts and minds of the audience…and whether or not a good many are conscious of it, The Matrix does the same.

There is some really good “Philosophical mumbo jumbo” going on in there that people crave with curiosity and interest.

The Matrix is a Homer’s Odyssey more than it is an Orson Wells Citizen Kane no matter how ‘well’ the movie was made (or not according to critics) technically.

Critics get paid by someone...you think they have an autonomous control on what they write??
Regardless which way you package it you need perception and depth to attempt to follow the movies and this is not the kind of edutainment the establishment wants to praise.

MORE VIN DEISEL PLEASE!

question...so if a non-critic pans the movie, that review (by the non-critic) would be more accepted?

Funny, remembering back, one of my favorite parts of "Reloaded" is Neo's meeting with the Architect. I heard from the negative reviews about it and geared up to follow it, word for word. I thought it was tight.
