Laugh's,but true.............

CHISTOSO, PERO ES LA MERA NETA

1. Not only do you know all the security guards and
cafeteria workers, ONE OF THEM HAS ASKED YOU OUT ON A
DATE OR VICE VERSA.

2. Your version of a conference call is when you call
your friends and plan what you are doing for tonight
or for the weekend.

3. The only time your man/woman picks you up from work
is on payday.

4. Friends and family members call you at work to cuss
you out because you didn't answer your home phone the
previous night.

5.You paint your nails at your desk.

6. When you are on a personal call you laugh so
loud-your coworkers on the other side of the office
come and ask you what's so funny.

7. On casual Friday you wear your best- Versace,
Tommy, Polo, D&G, Burberry jeans (ladies - tightest)
Parasuco jeans)... but the rest of the week you looked
professional.

8. You have pictures on your wall and around your
computer with you and your friends at the club with
drinks in your hands, as well as pics of all of your
"sobrinos".

9. You talk about how much money you make.

10. You have codes for personal calls that let's
someone know that you'll call them right back. (Let
the phone ring two times and I will know it is you and
call you right back.)

11. You go get your haircut / hair done on lunch and
come back two hours later..

12. You use your corporate credit card to buy clothes,
pay bills, personal plane tickets.

13. Your nails are so long you can hardly type.

14. You don't like your supervisor and a couple
other coworkers and you tell them off on a regular
basis and wonder why you haven't been promoted.

15. You brag about how you haven't done anything all
day and you have the nerve to say when you get home,
"I am so tired."

16. You call in sick on Friday because you went out on
Thursday you call in on Monday too

17. You go shopping at lunch and come back with a
lot of bags and proceed to show everyone what you
bought.

18. You bring your kids to work and they run all
over the office.

19. You come to work on Friday's dressed for the club.

20. You cuss creditors out for calling you at work.

21. Your kids call your job and say to the operator,
"Let me speak to Mami."

22. You call in sick on payday Friday and send your
cousin to pick up your paycheck.

23.You contribute $1 to the office Christmas party, eat
the most food and take a platter of lunchmeat and
potato salad home to your family for dinner.

24. Your kids` school supplies all have your company's
insignia on them. (You know who you are)

25. You give your out-of-town friends your company`s
1-800 number.

26. Before calling in sick, you rehearse your sick
voice and sick story several times out loud. (You know
who you are)

27. Coworkers inquire how your father`s surgery
went-that required you to be out for days and you
haven`t seen your daddy since he left your momma when
you were born ..... graemlins/lol.gif icon_rofl.gif

-I respect anonymity on the net
-dunno if your latin or not but even if you are it doesnt matter, these "jokes" are wack
-how are these statements/corny jokes supposed to be directed for only Latinos?
ie. 5.You paint your nails at your desk.

i mean bro, this shit is REALLY bad.

I can't get mad at DeeJay Raare simply because these are jokes. I get more pissed off at the lame shows that we have. I mean, has anyone seen the crap that is on the Latino stations lately? Many of our jokes are chauvenist, sexist, and demeaning to women. Most of our commercials rely on T&A to sell products, even to children (remember the joke they made on the Simpsons about the lady who did the kids show who was scantily clad-it was in the Brazilian episode). Shows such es 'Sabado Gigante' and 'Hasta En Las Mejores Familias' rely on exploitation, not only of our women, but of our cultures and values to push their ratings. We can try and blame someone else for it, but we should look at ourselves first before we start talking smack. Just my two pennies .....

"Damelo con mucho wat, po que lo wa prender y lo wa pagar chico"
NOW THATS COMEDY! graemlins/lol.gif

magic_juan Magic Juan, you hit the nail on the head! i've been thinking of this for a minute...what you mention with the t&a marketing of those shows would not make it on mainstream American tv...and a lot of those shows (especially the univison ones) are crap. i mean, that "sabado gigante" has been on the air nationally since 1987 and that sh** is tired, tired, tired! ese viejo verde Don Fransisco needs to give up his schtick and retire before his viagra gets the best of him...and what about that "primer impacto"? it's pathetic! if there's bloodletting, they'll report it ..the gorier the better...they constantly report about tradegies, shootings, and the like and pass it off as "news" when it's nothing more than 21st-century yellow journalism with a heavy dose of sensationalism...one day, i was with my mom and the show aired....they had this report about this guy in California who stabbed his brother with a knife and the folks who run that show stooped so low as to show the stabbed brother entering the ambulance with the knife still attached to his back. graemlins/cussing.gif mad1.gif complete bollocks!

and if you switch over to telemundo (which i think nbc runs and runs a distant second to bigwig univision), they got this show out of Peru called "Laura En America"...it airs weekdays at 4pm....it's extremely pathetic...a jerry springer copycat where Laura acts as though she is some sort of good samaritian and constantly has adversaries duking out the drama...and to hear the constant "bleeps" to cover the cuss words (sometimes you hear about 6-8 "bleeps" per minute)is just horrid...not only that, but has anyone heard the theme music to that show???? if you thought lambada music was dead, just listen to the theme and you'd think it was on the verge of a comeback!

univision recently established a second network called "telefutura" as a result of relaxed media laws and has their fingers in many areas, especially with a record label which they often push their stuff...what's sad is that univion has a visegrip on mainstream Latin culture in the States...Univision is sadly one of the few Spanish-language media choices out there with telemundo going a distant second and Tv Azteca starting to establish affliates in the States (mostly out West)...

speaking of Univision...here's some recommended name changes to their shows:

Hasta En Las Mejores Familias -- Hasta En Las Mejores Peleas
Sabado Gigante -- Sabado Insignificante
Cristina -- Cretina
Primer Impacto -- Primer Implantes
Despierte America -- Sigue Durmiendo
Clase 406 -- Clase 666
Mujer...Casos De La Vida Real -- Sangano...Son Casos Que No Son Leal
El Gordo Y La Flaca -- El Peo Y La Caca
Fuera De Serie -- Fuera Del Aire
El Blablazo -- El Cagazo (can't believe this crap is still on the air!)
Otro Rollo -- Otro Bollo
Lente Loco -- Lente Mosco
Tu Desayuno Alegre -- Tu Desayuno Triste
Cero En Conducta -- Cero En Comedia

commercials

ingles sin barreras -- ingles a la carerra
fonovisa -- pornovisa

changing the subject just a little bit, does anyone remember back in NY/NJ wnju channel 47 during their pre-telemundo era (before 1987)? their commercials were a ball to watch as well as a lot of the comedic and variety fare they used to import from Puerto Rico such as:

Los Kakukomikos
Estudio Alegre
La Casa De Juanma Y Wiwi
Noche De Gala (Eddie Miro)
El Show De Iris Chacon
El Show De Las Doce (con "La Condesa Del Bochinche")

let's keep this going...

I would like to add to your list that show called "Zero En Conducta." Grown ass people acting like children while regurgitating the same lame jokes from the 40's. Dear God, liberate us!! I would like to add to your list that show called "Zero En Conducta." Grown ass people acting like children while regurgitating the same lame jokes from the 40's. Dear God, liberate us!! What ever happened to wholesome shows like "El Chavo." Now THAT was my stuff, boyeee ... I hear some episodes are on DVD now, too. Gotta seek them out ....

magic_juan graemlins/cool_shades.gif </font>
isn't that "laura en america" theme just some of the worst drivel passed off as music??? i got another awful one for you....there was this recent soap opera that univision aired called "el secreto del amor"...the female singer who sang the theme song has got to have one of the worst voices ever...can't sing worth sh**! really lame, waverthin vocals set to a pseudo-salsa melody..sounds like she and pernecchio(unvision bigwig) have been messing around (or perhaps with one of the venevision bigwigs since the soap opera was from Venezuela if i remember correctly?)

about "cero en comedia" errr .."cero en conducta"...i really haven't paid attention to the jokes but every time i see the promos, i can't help but think how absurd of a concept it is just by looking at all those grown-ups dressed as kids...LAME LAME LAME!

"Chapulin Colorado -- El Chavo Del Ocho": "No Me Contaron Con Mi Astucia!" that was mad funny....that show had legs...as a matter of fact, i think univision still shows old clips of that show on sunday nite around 8pm...and if you go to the univison.com site, they sell dvds of their old "chapulin colorado" shows...

moving further along...remember when univsion was known as the Spanish International Network (SIN)? back in the late 70s, they had this show from Mexico called "La Carabina de Ambrosio" or something to that order and at the closing credits, they would play "Ou Sont Les Femmes (???)" by DC LaRue...and i vaguely remember they had a show that was a Mexican version of "Dance Fever" (around '78/'79) where contestants would dance for prizes and even have some live acts...

is it just me, or does univision do really heavy cross-promoting between shows even more than their Ameican counterparts??? i swear! every time some lamed-out soap opera makes its debut, they cram the main protagonists into every frigging talk-show/news-show they got with all the dirt on blooper nude scenes and who's sleeping with who.. Just my two pennies .....

magic_juan Magic Juan, you hit the nail on the head! i've been thinking of this for a minute...what you mention with the t&a marketing of those shows would not make it on mainstream American tv...and a lot of those shows (especially the univison ones) are crap. i mean, that "sabado gigante" has been on the air nationally since 1987 and that sh** is tired, tired, tired! ese viejo verde Don Fransisco needs to give up his schtick and retire before his viagra gets the best of him...and what about that "primer impacto"? it's pathetic! if there's bloodletting, they'll report it ..the gorier the better...they constantly report about tradegies, shootings, and the like and pass it off as "news" when it's nothing more than 21st-century yellow journalism with a heavy dose of sensationalism...one day, i was with my mom and the show aired....they had this report about this guy in California who stabbed his brother with a knife and the folks who run that show stooped so low as to show the stabbed brother entering the ambulance with the knife still attached to his back. graemlins/cussing.gif mad1.gif complete bollocks!

and if you switch over to telemundo (which i think nbc runs and runs a distant second to bigwig univision), they got this show out of Peru called "Laura En America"...it airs weekdays at 4pm....it's extremely pathetic...a jerry springer copycat where Laura acts as though she is some sort of good samaritian and constantly has adversaries duking out the drama...and to hear the constant "bleeps" to cover the cuss words (sometimes you hear about 6-8 "bleeps" per minute)is just horrid...not only that, but has anyone heard the theme music to that show???? if you thought lambada music was dead, just listen to the theme and you'd think it was on the verge of a comeback!

univision recently established a second network called "telefutura" as a result of relaxed media laws and has their fingers in many areas, especially with a record label which they often push their stuff...what's sad is that univion has a visegrip on mainstream Latin culture in the States...Univision is sadly one of the few Spanish-language media choices out there with telemundo going a distant second and Tv Azteca starting to establish affliates in the States (mostly out West)...

speaking of Univision...here's some recommended name changes to their shows:

Hasta En Las Mejores Familias -- Hasta En Las Mejores Peleas
Sabado Gigante -- Sabado Insignificante
Cristina -- Cretina
Primer Impacto -- Primer Implantes
Despierte America -- Sigue Durmiendo
Clase 406 -- Clase 666
Mujer...Casos De La Vida Real -- Sangano...Son Casos Que No Son Leal
El Gordo Y La Flaca -- El Peo Y La Caca
Fuera De Serie -- Fuera Del Aire
El Blablazo -- El Cagazo (can't believe this crap is still on the air!)
Otro Rollo -- Otro Bollo
Lente Loco -- Lente Mosco
Tu Desayuno Alegre -- Tu Desayuno Triste
Cero En Conducta -- Cero En Comedia

commercials

ingles sin barreras -- ingles a la carerra
fonovisa -- pornovisa

changing the subject just a little bit, does anyone remember back in NY/NJ wnju channel 47 during their pre-telemundo era (before 1987)? their commercials were a ball to watch as well as a lot of the comedic and variety fare they used to import from Puerto Rico such as:

Los Kakukomikos
Estudio Alegre
La Casa De Juanma Y Wiwi
Noche De Gala (Eddie Miro)
El Show De Iris Chacon
El Show De Las Doce (con "La Condesa Del Bochinche")

let's keep this going...

magic_juan um... this is an actual show in brazil. we have a friend who spent a couple of years down there, he said the show exists, it really is for kids, and it is widely accepted because brazilian people don't think nudity is a big deal. </font>
I always felt this was a reference to Xuxa (remember her?). For those who may not know, she was this lady who had a kids show and posed nude in a magazine causing a bit of a stir ..

Here she is now:

speaking of SammyRock, that #183 from 1996 is a MAD, MAD scorcher...there's this song towards the beginning of the b-side that has that "get on down...rock the house" vocal sample which i never can get enough to this day...it's the "toll-free project" which was on Scotch Plains, NJ-based "in-sync" records which was produced by WRSU's "Don Juan"....again, that SammyRock tape wrecks shop, wrecks shop, wrecks shop!

i'll definetly take a listen to your "city2city" mix... :D smile.gif thanks for letting me know....and don't worry about getting the record out soon...take your time hermano..

you remember "chiquiadas"????? dang, that kiddie show hit the airwaves in the States around 1987...there was even an album they made related to that show...

over and out...hope your week is a good one biggrinangel.gif
