This is a track with that classic Quincy Jones sound. Bruce Swieden's sound system (was it called ARC?), John Robinson's four-on-the-floor backbeat, plus the way Quincy arranges the Seawind horn riffs are just amazing. The cut may the most dynamic of all the Rufus songs they ever did (the addition of Robinson may have given this band some spark at the time, especially with this track!).
And compare the horn riffs to two other Quincy songs also in the same key (G minor), Michael Jackson's "Get On The Floor" and the Brothers Johnson's "Stomp". No wonder Seawind was on a whole lot of albums in the late 70s.
...Oh, yeah, and Chaka Khan lays down the vocals as usual. Peace.

I played it just the other night at this afterhours joint with only a small response, i don't know what was wrong with that crowd.

This track gets me jumpin all the time, especially the ending chorus. Slammin' cut. Peace.
i didn't realize that was quincy...but that makes sense. great tune. too bad it's so expensive on ebay. i got suckered into buying a remix of it...i didn't read the fine print:(
